I'm taking a class now about religion and conflict, and the more I learn how throughout history, the bible was used to justify the most inhumane treatment of others 'not like you', or 'not like me', the more turned off I am against religion.
History is really only favorable for which ever 'Empire' happens to be on top at the time.
Darwin and others, they were monsters, when you actually read their journals and take a closer look at things.
A lot of the men society holds up today, upon closer examination, were monsters to many.
A lot of your great great ancestors were 'monsters' towards certain others, and many used the bible to justify it.
No human Pastor should ever get in my face talking anything about the bible, for I see, am learning, what a tool of torture the bible has been used on others, in the past, and even today, if not for 'civil rights', and 'bill of rights'.
I can't blame 'God' for that though, just man.
God didn't tell men to do those cruel things to others.

I can't even really blame the bible though, cause when I was younger, and read the bible, it never once occurred to me to use the bible to justify my hate towards others, or disdain towards others, when I read the bible it was all about self correction.
So why some men/women seem to be led to the bible or estract from the bible passages they think or interpit as justification to demean others points to 'good vs bad' type of dynamic within all.
In other words a good person will estract positive things from the bible about loving others and self, a bad person will estract negative things from the bible about hating others, in order to justify hate within self.
Much more on this to follow as time allows.

Obviously the world needs morality, but I wonder if religious books should be the source of that morality?
This we will tackle as time allows.
When study history though, and even examine modern times, should religious books be the source of morality? When study history, one can't help but see that people using religious books as sources of morality, then go on to estract things from those books that in their mind justify cultural and generational oppression of others 'Thus saith the Lord' and 'Thus saith this passage of scripture right here'.
Hate is one thing, but when that hate or bias in another or others, is amplyfied by what they perceive to be 'God', than it becomes murderous towards others.

How come religious leaders who have 'everything', love telling those who don't have everything, that they should be happy and content with nothing?

People who say 'God' is in control of everything that occurs are near lunatics to me
1. Women get soxually assaulted, 'Oh, god is in control, his will be done', says the lunatic
2. hobbit gets leg blown off by land mine in war town Somalia 'Oh, god is in control, his will be done', says the lunatic
3. Bus full of Christians blows tired, rolls of cliff and explodes 'Oh, god is in control, his will be done', says the lunatic
4. inter cultural persicution within individual nations, 500,000 led to their slaughter 'Oh, god is in control his will be done', says the lunatic
5. You're driving home and get car jacked by a thief, 'Oh, god is in control, his will be done', says the lunatic.
And I could go on and on.
And to imply that god is in control of every event that occurs on Earth is also to imply that 'god' is a lunatic, but obviously they are not.

Ye that's like saying a parent is in control of everything that occurs within their household. No, a parent may be the head of the household, write rules for the household, but doesn't mean all those within the household follow the rules. Also being a parent doesn't mean you control others within household as if they're robots being guided by remote control.

Your God ruined her life, not the devil! Ye, notice how it's only when people in their prime 'repent', get sorrowful, that then their bodies begin to break down. And the Lord of 'death' or 'The cross' then claims them?

Some churches seem to eager to be martyrs, like it's a game or something
I called into radio show today, couldn't help myself, cause these Christians, on their radio show, kept making Martyrism seem like a trip to Disneyland or something.
(When have more time I'll cover this more in detail).
Almost like people who are so bored, live such plain Jane lives, they go climb tallest mountain in the world, and just the risk of death seems thrilling to them...well that's how these Ivy League radio Christians sounded....they made it seem that you should be 'gleeful' about being a martyr, and then went on to quote scripture of the Apostles getting their heads chopped off or burned at the steak...
I was like, 'Hell no'...Jesus no Jesus, I'm not trying to be a martyr for any one or thing, just simply to prove I can...heck no.
When cornered, one can either stand, fight and pray, or get on knees, pray and surrender.
I'll do the first, and I think the first is more Godly.
Unless I'm drugged, or to sick, I'm going to fight back, always, God no God, let God be God, but I"m going to be me, and fight back, it's my duty to, whether as a Christian or Atheist or anything else.
I Question any religion that encourages 'you' to just roll over in the sand with legs wide open and take a beating, just to prove how faithful you are to 'god'....bunk that.
I'm faithful to myself and own life first...as should others be.
You can still love 'god', have faith and fight back if being abused.
So again, not sure where these radio Christians were going with this, I called in, stumped them, and well you know how radio personalities are, they mute your mic before audience of millions might actually here something that makes better sense than what they're saying.
This will be continued as time allows.
