Let's face it, most people aren't afraid of 'you', rather they're afraid of their own 'temptations of you'.
In other words people fear their own temptations, weaknesses, which they project onto 'you'.
Humans are for sure the least, repeat, least honest of all lifeforms created on this here planet.

If you don't spend your money on things 'you want to', eventually you'll have to spend your money on things 'you don't want to'
Better to spend whatever spare change you have on your dream goals, than having to later spend same amount of money on 'nightmare' bills, ect.
Paying bills don't make you prosper.
