Talk radio is harder than most people realize. Talk radio is like blogging out loud. But in radio, there can be no long pauses...even though the host may have no guest on for up to 30 minutes, you, as the host, have to continue to talk, fill air time, remain enthused, until commercial break or guest or caller arrives. But it can be enjoyable also. Radio, when good at it, can be much more rewarding than a blog. There's more electricity you get from interacting with real live people, than the interaction you get from blogs. Radio is like static, blogging is more like dew, wet morning dew left over from the night. But you have to have the personality for it...and 15 minutes in reality can seem like an eternity if you have nothing to say, no passion, no ideas. It's not as easy as it seems...but I'm trying to get back into it. Cause you can meet wonderful people by doing so....and some rotten apples to, but at least while on air you can squelch them immediately, or they you. It's just more fun. To be continued...

Talk radio may be 'hard' as above post said nearly 4 years ago...(wow how this forum board has history to it...wow)... But hard or not, I'm back into radio, and why not around here as much as I use to be, in that radio, online radio, much more stimulating...the cast, and personality of this board, here, has basically been transfered to amfm247.com The 'Caige show'... Here's a sample show... link Radio or Podcasting, is just more fun...yet to me old style forum boards like this still serve a purpose...in that sites like twitter and FB are so phony now, where people's posts are 'shadow banned' by heavy handed moderators...(oddly enough that use to be the issue with forum boards and is what ultimately made me create this site) I like this site 'as is'...so don't feel sorry for me...I like it 'as is', and so do others who come here to read...it's a silent quiet Mansion of thoughts. Large empty echoing rooms of former sentiment, life and ghosts...a special place indeed... With this ghost revisiting, now and then, just as ghosts do.

Yes, radio, podcasting, not easy...it is but yet isn't.
If want to 'grow', it is not.
Creativity takes a lot of time and energy, and only proper 'rest' allows for those certain moods to come out that entertain others.
But if constantly stressed from day job, or other stuff, that creative side of self, which makes for good radio, can be hard to draw out.
Only about 1 in 10,000 are really made for entertainment...
Only those in the business will understand that ratio.

Yes, this site connected to media, but don't care to give out link anymore, I mean why bother?
Humans are cruel, mean, and usually have bad motives, so what's the point?
As such I simply want this blog forum to remain isolated, alone and haunted, for those who have come to enjoy over the years, I suppose.

The thing about creative radio, after doing for a while, you learn the mind is like a muscle in that if the mind is burnt out, the creativity just stops.
And the type of radio I do depends greatly on creativity, like radio of old, which means characters, sounds, effects and such, to make the mind work, to make the mind of the listener work.
But if own mind burnt out, than it just doesn't work.
Better to replay 'best of' shows or partial best of and new, than to produce shows with burnt out mind.
And that's why rest is so essential to creative energy.
Those who try to be creative without proper rest are usually those who end up taking 'drugs' to give them artificial energy, a trap many Rockers and touring musicians use to fall into a lot.
But to me, unless getting paid, there's really no rush to finish anything.

Sometimes rest just means doing absolutely nothing, nothing at all, and pretending a hobbit again, upstairs, just watching TV on summer night without a care in the world.

If not into radio or broadcasting, or Podcasting, I doubt any of this will be of interest. But like anything else it is, has been, a growing experience. Especially when learning on your own, but technology has really changed things, has really made it so anyone can create on cloud based radio station, with scheduled shows and all. In the past, as well as now, most people create a show, pre record a show, or some platforms allow you to go 'live' and simply pay station for air time. Stations usually charge in 'block time'...30, 60 minutes ect...can be between 50 or 200 an hour, depends on size of station and whether celestial or stream or online. And what they're basically doing is charging you time to appear on their station. But if look behind the scenes, one can create their own station, upload as many shows as you want, or music (if have proper licensing) for less a month than a few hours on established station. Sure, the established station is more established, but they had to start from scratch to, we all do. So the key is learning how to promote newly formed radio station, cloud based radio station. And instead of getting say a few hours a week on anothers station, you can re air your show over and over again, and schedule it multiple times, and between shows, they have whats called 'DJ's that fill the time, like generic DJ's...(I'll share more about this later) And the good thing about having own cloud based station is can continually air your 'stuff'...don't have to wait for specific paid for air time on another's channel. And since it's your station can mix up production, music, talk radio, documentaries, story time, theater, ect...your mind is your limit. And most, if not all, stations come with audio players and widgets and plugins and more...I'm still learning about all this myself. And many give free trials. Thing is is I've been producing shows for around 2 years now, my productions sucked at first, audio sucked, cause I was self taught, but now quality can compete with any professionally paid show on TV or radio. But it took time, I mean if learning this was a 4 year college, I'd be sophomore right now, I've got production down to a T, only limited by time and energy sense only a side thing I do. But to graduate up to Junior and above, I must, owe it to self, to learn how to run own station, how to program shows myself and so forth. I mean school is only fun as long as keep progressing, same with every day life and hobbies we have. I mean it can be scary, cause always easier to allow others to do it for you, but that mindset is what has hurt me in the past, to just sit back and let others 'do it', and take the easy route. Anyways, here's a link to how to create own radio show... link = How to create own radio show Sadly, response on this site has kind of been muted (the zone), cause the few times people did respond it's like they were retarded or something. Or would just leave some 'add' or code or ect. Not sure what's so difficult about commenting on subject presented, but I guess many find that difficult and can't resist dropping some stupid add or something, so responses have been muted as of now. So it's more of a 'blog forum', for thought, and nothing more, the internet has sure changed a lot since this blog forum first began. It's like a catalog of thought that has endured through many years, seasons, of life. And it's still around after many others have faded.

I have a online radio show that airs 24/7 and about to end the monthly fee, cause website it was on has ended, by my choice.
Was going to find another website for the player, but decided not to, why waste my money.
so will open a rare and first time poll on here for visitors to fill out, and this is if want a radio version of the 'Zone' than click either yes or no.
If no response, than that's what I figured, if a response than may consider.
begin.

Never mind, I think I'll just cancel radio show, and start from scratch.
just paying these people for nothing, will instead focus on podcasts.
I guess, who knows, why is my life so jaded?

Just did it, just ended 'auto payments', how do I feel about it??
Nothing really.
Just not my time I guess.
Was simply paying them, but getting nothing in return, not their fault.
If anything my fault, or 'fates fault'.
Just not my time to shine I guess.
Oh well.

It's funny though how every one 'loves you' suddenly shows interest in you, once they're no longer feeding off you.
Life goes on...and so do I, at least for a short while.

Thinking about getting back into radio, but the real type this time, as in am/fm type, but without sponsors that costs a lot of money, you have to basically 'rent' your air time, and it does cost, can be as much as a rent payment or more per month without sponsors, and that's why when on air must make every second of show matter.
I could probably afford it for around 3 months, on my own, after that show would go away, unless I got sponsors or donations.
But during that time there's a lot I could build up, a lot I could promote, and that would be the pay off, I could really get 'my brand' out there and use that as leverage later on.
I don't know, every things a risk, to do nothing and just play it safe for rest of my natural healthy life is a risk also.
And this current path I'm on, it's pretty dull, safe, but dull, and lonely.
Radio would change that, at least for a while, cause I'd be known, heard, by many, and would set up email, and a site specifically for show.
Remember, volume means value, so then could monetize website.
But if start with website first, as I did, no one goes there if they don't already know you, people follow celebrities, and just being on local radio kind of makes you a celebrity to most, maybe not a national celeb or an important one, but a celeb no less and that gives you a bit of clout.
But clouts not what I'm looking for, what I'm looking for is opportunity, just something more than waking up and going to dull job a few times a week where basically treated like a nobody with nothing to add to anything.
I'll know something soon.

Doing the same thing over and over again begins to just feel so 'safe' after a while, and I suppose it is, and then you just eventually fade into nothing...there's nothing wrong with that I suppose.
But the person who's alive just always wants more, feels they can do more, but in real life there's no garunteed outcome, and that's fine when it doesn't cost you any money, but when risking your own money to do something, than it just adds more anxiody.
And if trying to get motivation from the dead souls around you, forget about it, it's like trying to rise out of a sea of thick molasses or something is what it's like trying to express your dreams around regular minded people.

Humbling period
I realize I'm not ready for am/fm, not with the equipment I have or was using.
At minimum I need something like this if expect to be taken seriously.
I think this is what radio guy probably wanted to tell me, but would rather take my 'money' instead, not blaming them, I just don't think they wanted to tell me that I needed better sounding recordings, so instead I'm telling myself that for them.
It's one thing if using their studio, it's another thing when would be broadcasting from 'home'.
If I'm serious about it I'll invest $1,500.00 or so, if not, than means I'm not that serious.
I just need a cooling down period.
And I've learned, of course, never make important decisions while at home with a few drinks in you, cause with a few drinks in you to absurd will seem possible.
And me paying near 'rent' price to lease radio spot seemed sensible with a few drinks in me, it seemed 'doable', but now that sober, do to job, I'm humbled again...and realize I have much to learn about broadcasting, if want to take it to another level.
Time will tell.
