Hello
Sin does exist, and at least for man, there is a right and a wrong.
Social morays and trends, and personal preferences are more a matter of style, taste, and culture, not right or wrong.
Understanding what's right and wrong, sinless vs sinful will help give you much great understanding of yourself and the world around you.
Aligning yourself with 'right', is a much better way to live.
God never intended for sin to enter into this world, but it has, as such a lot of things are 'off', including mans on moral compass.
And yes, even those who attend church tend to be 'off' at times, as most tend to lead with their, our, own understanding, derived from culture, and self interest, rather than truly submitting ourselves to the divine nature and interest of God.
Mans interests, and Gods interests conflict...always have, always will, ever since the 'seperation' that occurred in the Garden of Eden.
Man is no longer in alignment of God, our interests are not Gods.
But Jesus came into this dark world to set things right for man, for those who want to find their way back to the 'light'.
Jesus is both divine, and was fully human (when on earth) and came down to perform a specific mission, to make man right with God once again.
Jesus is spirit, but unfortunately there are other 'spirits' or forces that habitate this world, that are very hostile to God.
Their mission is to keep man separated from God.
Like Jesus said 'The devil prowls around like a roaring lion, looking to devour'...
1 Peter 5:8
Yes, it's a metaphor but one with meaning, in that lions (lionesses) hunt, and seek out the weak.
Dark spirits do the same.
But their tactics are different in that they go after our moral compass, they go after our minds and ability to reason straight.
Like a bad compass, or moral compass, once they have the 'mind', everything else becomes distorted.
And that's why it's so important to stay grounded in scripture.
Scripture, applied with some common sense, helps keep our moral compass 'straight'...or as straight as sinful man can muster.
For remember, it is 'Jesus' that we are made right with God, and not our own perfections.
And if we learn to rely on the power of Jesus, confide and trust in him, instead of our own flesh, peace and spiritual prosperity can be had.
Thank you for joining me here today.
