Yes...I'm watching his movie...why not, watched it long ago by accident, so felt like watching it again for notes.
Some things I agree with so far, other things I do not.
But one thing for sure I'm learning, and that is Detroit, MI, Cleveland and that whole area, did not collapse do to 'Democratic policies'...it collapsed do to the deliberate destruction of Union workers.
The deliberate laying off of 10's of 1000's of union workers by big business, this was engineered at the very top.
It's kind of sinister actually...and scary.
The standard talk radio explanation of 'Oh it is or was liberal policies that caused it'...is mind numbing at best, and simply false.
I almost think millionare talk show hosts are hired propagandist who are paid to say these over and over again, to exhault those who pay their salaries.
Cause the more you read and study on your own, you begin to realize, either talk radio hosts are 'dense' or they're deliberately being deceptive with the things they say.
As if running cover for those who pay their exorborant salaries.
I'm not saying there isn't some merit to some of the smaller social issues they speak of, in principle.
But I am saying for them to make it seem that single women on welfare some how caused the collapse of the nation is absurd.
But yet some in his Frankenstein audience actually believe that...and I guess never read or study anything outside of the Limbaugh show, or Hannity show.
Unlike them, I'm not afraid to read, learn, and discover things on my own...unlike them I don't need Rush teaching me anything, nor has he ever.
All Rush has shown me is that if you repeat the same stuff over and over and over again on a radio show, and never have any guests, that people who lack education and confidence, and who are emotionaly frail, will eventually believe whatever the man says.
But if they would let go of their biases, pick up a book, research history, and see what really occurred...they'd be surprised.
So maybe this thread here will be dedicated to researching what actually did occur during the late Carter years, and early Reagan years, that left Detroit and other cities in that area, in shambles, and why some cities were able to rebound, and others have not.
I am not looking to blame either party...I just want to know what really occurred, and the parties involved...
