 Can both Gods love and magic be used together to get desired results out of life? Or do they counter each other in origins and intent?. God, at least the God of the bible, seems to prefer everyone turn to him for all needs... But when you look at the world today, or yesterday, obviously lots of peoples needs go un met. And as many become more desperate, more and more are turning to 'magic' as a way of changing their fate or bad situation they're in. But the bible makes it clear in the old testament that under no circumstances should people, at least 'his' people, should mess around in the occult... Islam is also very opposed to the occult, probably more so than even Christainity. Interested in what other dolls have to say about this topic... |

 Some times I'm not sure if any of it exists...and if it does, what's it matter. The life cycle of man seems to be the exact same life cycle of Bison, or Coyotes or even ants. You're born, live a while then die...and while alive every force of nature, with the exception of food, tries it's best to return you to the grave. By the time you're 70,80 or 90...I think you stop caring about any of it, and just want rest. |

 Excuse me gentlemen, but the bible clearly states witchcraft is an art that shall not be practiced....the bible clearly states that...well read for yourself... Duetreronomy 18, 10-12 "Don't let anyone use magic or witchcraft, or try to explain the meaning of signs. Don't let anyone try to control others with magic, and don't let them be mediums or try to talk with the spirits of dead people. The Lord hates anyone who does these things, Because the other nations do these things, the Lord your God will force them out of the land ahead of you." Now...is there anything you two gentlemen didn't understand about that verse? |

 Ok, I read the verse you posted...Deuteronomy 18. And am struck by the use of the word 'hate'...to express how God feels towards those who practice magic, talks to mediums, spirits, ect ect. To me that reveals a lot...it tells me that, as with humans, 'God' only fears, hates, that which really exists, or that which is a threat to his own power and or existence. In other words, the fact that 'God' would even take time to address such an issue, reveals, at least to me, that the forces behind witchcraft are real...forces, spirits whatever, but the fact that Israel's God at the time, was so opposed to these forces being tapped into, tells me that by tapping into them, you're tapping into something real...be it they sweet or sour in nature, but for God to address it, these forces must be real...at least that's how I see it. |

 In the old testament, God, or Israel's God seemed to hate and detest all who were not Israelis... I mean why couldn't God talk to everyone...all those people who got wiped out by Israel's God...were they not human? did they not matter? I'm sure my own ancestor's would of been hated by Israel's god, wiped out, and massacred, just so they could have land. And even though Israel justified violence through their 'god'...it seems they still kept rebelling...I mean every other chapter of old Testament is of Israel falling away from then coming back to god...they were a rebellious lot. Seems to me a true god would talk to everyone, and not just one tiny tribe of people existing on the planet at the time... |

 Why won't God talk to me? Why create subjects, and then make communication between you and the subjects you created all but impossible. What's the point in that? |
