I really hope Michael Sam, the gay or gayish, former college football player gets drafted by a NFL team. First, I don't consider Michael Sam to be a rotten apple, but will use analogy anyways. There are a lot of rotten apple types who get drafted into NFL who actually do break the law, who actually do do things in public that embarrace the league, who actually do fornicate, abuse others, curse, swear, loose their tempers, go out to strip clubs, and indulge in all sorts of other stuff celebrity jocks typically do while younger. And I think Michael Sam would absolutely shine next to most NFL players in stature, education, looks, and even public behavior....and morals. (the guy could be a model or actor if football don't pan out). I just hope he doesn't go the same route as Tim Tebow...don't cheat the public like that again, don't cheat the fans...don't 'Tebow' Michael Sams. More to follow.

St Louis Rams choose Michael Sam!Full story here > Rams Draft Michael Sam<...had to double check to make sure it wasn't a prank, but ye, Michael Sam is now a member of the St Louis Rams... At least now he'll get the chance to 'prove himself'...that's all he wanted, all any of us ever want, it's all Tim Tebow wanted, whom I was a fan of also. I'm actually more prone to watch the Rams games this year more so than Cleveland games cause I see Michael Sam as being more of a long shot underdog than I do Maziel, who's been rich and privileged his whole life, nothing wrong with that, but I can relate more to Michael Sams underdog status. Way to go Rams, now for the first time in years, you've given me a reason to watch your games...

Leave it to exploitive deranged media to change narrative about Michael Sam
I just saw picture of Michael Sam online, and the only way deranged and exploitive media could narrate the victory of Michael Sam the athlete being drafted was to show picture of the guy kissing someone.
I find that gross, very gross.
No other athlete who got drafted was shown by media to be kissing anyone, not even their girlfriends, instead other drafted players were shown in uniform or in a suit or some other NFL or football related, non s-xual pose.
But no, leave it to the media to only see the s-xual orientation of Michael Sam, and to only define him as most sicko's would, in s-xual terms.
I just find it exploitive and sick.
I support Michael Sam the athlete, and could care the less about other private aspects of their life.
Right off the bat the media tries to define Michael Sam in a way that plays to certain others disdain.
Way to go media.

Michael Sam gets own TV documentary Update: TV documentary was cancelled long ago so he could concentrate on making the cut
Swell, that's what I say, why not, everyone else seems to have one, why not him.
And no, I don't think his off field documentary will be a 'distraction' to the team or league, if anything they're secretly craving the publicity.
Let's face it most NFL players are just drab, drab, no personality jocks who's only talent is to tackle others on the field, and every now and then 'super stars' come along, who stand out for whatever reasons, and when this happen, these other drabby players start getting jelous cause they're un able to garner same public appeal.
Distraction?, heck no, no more than these players already distract themselves with their own off field antics, going to clubs, strip clubs, using unauthorized substances, weed, ect, and just being rowdy, and pulling pranks, like what occurred in Miami Dolphins locker room last year with whole hazing incident gone to far.
Now suddenly these football players want to act like they study football as if at Harvard, and are well behaved Englishmen who were royal court wigs...
Please!
Those who say Michael Sam is a distraction are simply jelous jocks who could never garner the same type of public interest as he has.
They did the same thing with Tebow, ran him away from NFL, never even gave guy a chance.
So Sam had better enjoy his spotlight while he can before they 'Tebow' him out the league also. But luckly his position isn't as hyper critical as that of a QB.
If the Rams jettison Michael Sam, no one will watch any of their games, they will suddenly become a dud team again full of uninteresting drab jocks with nothing to say.

So far, who has been more of a distraction to their team and teammates, Michael Sam or Johnny Manziel? For all those who thought that Michael Sam's soxual orientation would be a distraction to team...egg in face to you. Sorry, but since M-Sam's was drafted, haven't heard as much as a peep from the guy since, other than early on when Oprah wanted to document his life experience, but unlike Manziel, M-Sam listened to his team owners and advisers, and kindly backed out of the lime light...that = Character. Sam's is proving that ones soxual orientation is but 1 tiny part of their over all moral orientation. No one, not the media, or prying nosey public, has so much as heard a peep from M-Sam, nada. One the other hand, the hetrosoxual football player, Johnny Manziel, can't seem to keep himself out of the headlines and controversy... The guys running around like a 'playa', flashing money, and more recently seen in bathroom of Casino rolling a dollar bill! Out partying, being rowdy, and doing who knows what else. On the other hand, not so much as a peep from Michael Sam...whom many homophobe types thought would bring all kinds of distractions to his team...again...egg in face for those who thought that. And the Michael Sam vs Johnny Manziel scenario proves you cannot totally judge a person by their soxual orientation which is simply 1 degree out of many that makes up the whole being.

Michael Sam gets cut by St Louis Rams, yet out performs J-Manziel in perspective positions, and Johnny stays with Browns.
M-Sam even sacked Johnny Manziel twice in a pre-season game, where you're given the chance to prove yourself.
M-Sam proved he could get to the QB and sack them, yet still gets cut...wow.
I have absolutely no reason or interest in watching the St Louis Rams play this year, none.
I'll only watch a NFL game with St Louis in it, only if Sam gets picked up by another team and his new team plays the Rams.
Other than that, the Generic Rams didn't do anything last year that would make me want to watch them this year.
I do hope M-Sam is picked up by another team.
He's in better shape right now, sharper, has higher NFL IQ than 70% of other players on rosters.

Kind of sad how Sam cancelled reality show with Oprah earlier this year, advised to, so he did, and missed out on earning millions.
Michael Sam cancelled reality show and told to concentrate on football, and he still got canned.
Lesson learned, and that is better take care of self, and bank what you can while you can, cause nothing else is guaranteed except 'now', the moment.
And Sam may have missed his moment, the furor over his making NFL team is now all but about over.
The chance to make millions on TV, endorcements, could of passed him by.
The whole thing of 'first gay player in NFL' is over, and now he's basically just another cut NFL player who didn't make team.
The League, the NFL, the Rams, did a good job at defusing his value, his hype.
Was this the plan all along?
M-Sam does everything right, and gets cut, Johnny Manziel does everything wrong, and gets spot on team.
That's just how life works for some.

Michael Sam signs with Dallas Cowboys after being cut by the Rams...wow!Sure he was signed only to the 'practice squad', but still, wow and good for him...good good good for him. A younger man who tries so hard to excel at his craft deserves a shot, opportunity to succeed. So many of us just aren't given that opportunity for whatever quirks we may have, we're denied... And for your information I rooted just as hard for Tim Tebow to get his opportunity to succeed also. And Tim was an evangelical Christian who was loud about his faith...and obviously Michael Sam is a male football player who is open about preferring to date or fall in love with other males. So how could I support or root for an evangelical and a open same sox guy at same time?? Cause I look past their surface paint, and see where there spirits really at...and at the core both are very decent human beings who are extra driven to make it in a world, system, where now they prefer you be more like Tiger Woods or Jordan, in that you're very 'generic' in public and only do commercials for 'speed stick deodorant' and keep all else to yourself. Where as Tebow and Sam or more in the spirit of Muhammad Ali, loud, proud, and who they are, yet still good at what they do. Tebow proved that in college, and so did Sam, but the pros have been slow in giving either a shot at real stardom. Tebow got shafted...shafted big time, only time will tell what becomes of Michael Sam, one thing for sure he's good at sacking QB's, that's his specialty...and he obviously does it very very well, just ask the Southern Conference College Football league. Or ask Johnny Manziel who was sacked twice by Sam in one pre-season game. The Rams are now off my radar, as I now focus on Dallas and the Browns. Dallas made a bold move, and I like that...I like teams that make bold moves, and give the fans what they want, and that is excitement, Star power, and winning games. Way to go Dallas!

Richard Incognito looked at by Denver Broncos, yet Michael Sam notI guess it's better to be loud mouth, property destroying bi polar maniac than quiet, reserved, in shape SEC defensive player of the year and 'gay'....in order for teams to seriously consider you for making shot at play offs. This is a perfect example of why non biblical believers have a hard time thinking or believing that Americans homophobia (or anywhere else) has anything to do with morality or biblical principles. It would be like Jesus being happy with a Werewolf while condemning Dracula... Talk about liability!...Richard Incognito...are you serious? Talk about bad sense of moral judgment, profanity laced tweets, emails, voice messages...ye he's really the shining example NFL needs. On other hand disciplined quit, athletic Michael Sam all but gets over looked...even though performed superbly in pre season....wow. NFL, wow...prefers wild party animal convicts over quiet disciplined athletes like Michael Sam.
