This post just wouldn't be the same, without first creating a visual, a visual comparison of the Alien creature from the movie 'Aliens', and a real life Parasitic Wasp, which the Alien creature actually gets most of it's traits from, either by coincidence or design. 1. Both creatures lay their eggs in a 3rd party host...in the Aliens case it's humans... In the Wasps case, it's a variety of insects... And after the eggs are laid...they incubate, then hatch, then eat their way out of the host... In the movie Aliens...this was one of the most disturbing scenes, when the Alien pupi would emerge from it's human host... But the same thing occurs with parasite wasps, only their pupi emerge from the insect host...sometimes chewing their way out...but often times the host is long dead by this time, or in a comatose state... As seen in the above image, as a baby wasp emerges from it's aphid, insect host. So it kind of makes you wonder did the writer of the 'Aliens' movie get their idea from observing nature? Anyways, in the up coming posts, I have even more fascinating things to share about how certain parasites even control the brain of their hosts, and make them behave in ways that help insure the parasites survival...odd stuff...but real...
