Time allowing, I will demonstrate how destructive politics is in general, but primarily how destructive politics is to people of 'Faith', and how politics and Christ don't, can't, occupy the same space in ones heart. Politics, with all it's deceitful tones, is 'The Devils Religion'.

Politics, amongst other things, takes away peoples ability to reason, and instead inflames peoples darkest biases, fears and hate.

With politics there is no moral absolute or truth, there's only the back and forth of ugly bias opinions

Politics will make you a lying devil, regardless of which side of political isle you fall upon.
Politics will make you lie and praise those who agree with you, even though they could be angels, and politics will make you condemn and hate those you 'think' you disagree with, even though they could be angels.
Politics is the devils religion.

Politics will make even the most docile person grow horns
Politics will make even the most docile person grow horns.
And this idea that if another doesn't see things 'our way', than they're to be slain, is 'dark', and feeds into the controlling nature of man.
Different view points are fine, but elected office, what elected office does is allows one persons political view to be forced or implemented onto others, and that's where the friction begins.
It's one thing if some 'cute' in the park or at the beach 'Liberal' wants to dye their hair blue, it's another thing if that 'cute' Liberal is elected to office and makes it law that everyone should dye their hair blue.
Or it's one thing if a bible belt conservative has a dull buzz cut, hair cut, but it's another thing if that bible belt conservative elected into office and forces everyone to get a buzz cut hair cut, that's where friction begins.
In a way, politics = justified control of others.
And what others want for themselves doesn't mean it's what you want for yourself.
