Today while at convient store, there was a mid 20's geeky type of white male at checking out items with cashier.
I didn't pay much attention when I walked in, as they did not look poor or sloppy.
When I got in line behind them I saw change on counter and saw them swipe credit/debit card.
Then I heard big tall older grey haired white cashier say 'Card declined!).
(both the geeky guy and cashier were white).
The tall heavy set cashier said 'Card declined!', then addressed me.
As I approached counter, I could see geeky guy collecting change off counter...he was trying to buy item with both change and credit/debit card combined.
As such, I simply said 'what is it you're trying to buy?, and they told me what it was, and so I told cashier to just add it to my total.
The geeky, yet well mannered guy looked kind of shocked and surprised that another human being would extend such kindness to them.
Well I did, why not, there's nothing more humiliating than having your card declined while other customers are standing in line behind you.
And no one bothers to comfort you.
Well I'm different, and in my presence that doesn't happen without me stepping in to help.
I know what it's like to be both poor and rich, lost and rejected, loved and hated and humiliated.
So, as a caring human with a heart, if I know what it's like to feel bad, why would I stand there and allow another to feel the same way?
So I just jumped in and helped the fella out, why not.
Most males are shocked when others do random acts of kindness to them.
Cause most males, unlike women, don't have 'soxuality to flaunt'...most males just look dull and plain, and so figure 'why would anyone want to help me out in any way at all?
Obviously most males have never encountered angels...
