I have a few ideas for so called 'starving musicians'.
Free ideas, do with them what you want.
To be continued as time allows.
I was just spurned to create this thread by reading online how 'streaming' will 'Cause some musicians to starve'.
I have a few solutions to that in up coming posts.

For 1. don't feel you have to release anything of yours online. Sell and promote self locally, build name and brand first, and worry about sales later. In this day and age that's very important. Even volunteer to perform were most others would not, like at senior centers, fire departments, parades, 4th of July and other Holiday events. Volunteer, get name, brand out there first, then worry about profits. Don't ignore this step...if you do you won't add up to much. Build your base, your reputation through word of mouth, before even worrying about all that other stuff...very important first step to success...

A few rappers starting to get smart now More and more stores are shelving the products of rappers who have decided to diversify their product line to be other than, well, rap. Cause we all know rap can be a very short lived career moment in ones life...either rappers tend to get shot, or jailed, prison, or just get ran through the industry, ripped off by their label, used abused, then dumped to the curb side wearing sandals. So at least the smart rappers are learning to capitolize in their fame and money while they can....and instead of wasting that 'advancement', which is really just a loan, on some stupid cars and jewels, many are stashing the money instead or investing it in the market or business ect... Collectively no telling how many billions of dollars have ran through rappers and the hip hop community that is just gone now. Rap starts today, shobbit row bums tomorrow, is what has happened to many rappers who failed to handle their career like a business... This video here kind of says it all, so watch if want better insite to how rappers who don't invest early on, can't end up with even less before they started rapping.
