Qatar, the richest citizens on Earth
I just saw a stunning documentary on Qatar, I was watching 'Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel'
Americans who still somehow think they have the best lifestyles on Earth don't really study, travel or read much.
By far, the citizens with the wealthiest lifestyles on Earth are those born into oil money in the middle East or Persian gulf area, where citizens are rewarded at birth with millions, and never have to 'labor', simply being born a Qatar citizen means you have won the lottery.
There is no dark side to being a Qatar citizen, but there is a dark side to being a part of the foreign labor that's imported to do all their work, and that dark labor side of Qatar was kind of the focus of Bryant Gumbels report.
Qatar is where millionaires and billionaires go to play.
But don't go there expecting to find work as a common laborer or you might return home in a 'red casket'.
The gulf between the starving poor and mega rich just seems to be rising, and for whatever reason the super rich seem to delight over this ever widening gap, I guess the richer you are, the more power and control you have over others....and this has never been more evident than in Qatar.
