I stumbled upon this show this morning, and got caught up in the live (at the time) phone conversations between Nixon and his top advisers. I wonder how all his phone calls got recorded? Or is that just standard procedure, back then, to record everything President says when making calls from White House. I mean in this HBO show, it's basically Nixon doing all the talking on the phone. But my question again is why were all his phone conversations recorded? And obviously he wasn't aware he was being recorded do to some of the content of his conversations, and swearing and other language people tend to use when speaking away from the public. And why only Nixon, why not all the other Presidents, why not share what their conversations where like when away from the public also. Nixon's a tad bit before my time, so I never really had much interest in him, Watergate, any of that stuff just never stoked my interest, and really still doesn't.

I've kind of backed away from politics and political issues as of lately. It's like ugly in, ugly out, ugly in ugly out. And if politics is all one focuses on, it will turn your insides sour. It's really all entertainment anyways, in that most people aren't even effected by the political figures they're told not to like. Hating someone you've never met is really kind of illogical, and definitely smacks in the face of true old time Christian Faith, as taught by Jesus. It makes no spiritual sense for me to hate or despise any President or elected official when they've never done a thing to me on a personal level. I've said before on here, that politics is the devils religion. And modern day politics has become nothing more than blind condemnation of anyone, or group that doesn't mirror our own biases. Politics is the exact opposite of what Jesus taught, and looking back, it's no wonder he was driven off the planet, by the exact same types who rule today, just a different age. Back then it was the Pharisees, Scribes and Sadducees, today it's Politicians, Attorney's (Lawyers), and Atheist who would all unite to destroy any modern day Jesus. (And even radicalized Islamist) Same people, different time period. After a while people forget about the God they claim to follow, and instead invent new God in their own political and bias and prejudice self interest, so that when the true God does arrive, the people don't even recognize him, cause they never served him. And that's the dangers of politics. No wonder Jesus warned in scripture about not getting to caught up in worldly affair, and warned how doing so could, would, lead many astray. There is no 'Christian Right' anymore, cause true believers of the Gospel aren't really into politics, and have broken away, and live their lives according to scripture with or without elected officials. Those who are into politics, and claim to speak for 'Christ' are decieversPlain and simple. True believers in the gospel don't care how you vote, they care about the state or condition of ones soul. A true Christian filled with the Love of God, and your typical Fox News, AM talk radio political hack, are like night and day apart when it comes to their motive, aim and purpose in life. In the end, politics will corrupt the soul, and make one incapable of loving or liking anyone. Their own political party will become their idol, will become their false God. Some things never change.

I normally can't stomach Savages shows, but today, his old, or younger 'hippie' side of compassion comes out, in regards to the incident in New York where the Garner man was killed by police do to choke hold. Sometimes Savage surprise even me when his none political, talk radio, side comes out and he just acts like a regular human being. I give Savage a rare A+ today, in his commentary of Garner. Just wish he'd quit injecting Obama and Sharpton into every issue though. Most people outside the media don't even know who Sharpton is, at least in the 'hood' areas.

Conservatism is really a umbrella term for many different movements, ideologies, identities
Conservatism is to movements, mindsets, what 'Bird' is to different types of fowl.
Not all Conservatism is the same, has the same 'aim' or 'goals'.
And in modern times, many groups who in the past would be out right 'racist' have simply grafted themselves into the more intellectual arm of Conservatism. Where they can camouflage their disdain for minorities under intellectual arguments.
But then again you have 'Conservative' Muslims as well, Conservative Africans, tribal members in the middle East and so on.
But in America, more times than not, Conservatism has traditionally been associated with 'WASP's.
And more recently you have media Conservatives...as in talk radio or Fox News types.
Tabloid Conservatism, knee jerk Conservatives, and on and on.
But they're all different.
And maybe in next post I'll break each one down to it's core.
I'd be better off writing a book. I don't get paid for this, so I share stuff, ideas, as time allows and as I feel moved.

To those who harbor racial animosity things always seem 'bad' to them, as far as others getting along Fox News anchors, hosts, commentators scoff at P-Obamas comment that 'Race relations have improved since I took office'. At Fox, and on talk radio, they scoff at that cause in their own hearts animosity and anger against ___________ (fill in the blank)have increased under the reign of current President. But someone who's reasonable, and not led around by nose by electoral politics, someone who has love in their heart towards others, would agree with President. Also, an honest person knows, will admit that no one outside of 'self' can influence you to 'hate' others. People can't make you feel what's not already in your heart. It may be 'dormant' but it's there and just takes right conditions to bring it to the surface. Example: In the 1950,60's Whites seemed nice and calm, as long as you stayed in your place as a 'black' person or person of color. (click to enlarge) I'm sure the 'white patrons' kicking their fellow 'blck' patron were perfectly normal, reasonable people most of the time, up and until 'blck' patron decided to 'challenge' oppressive (or what he thought to be oppressive) social rules of that era. People are always calm, appear nice, when they, we, get our way. So naturally racially, politically, bias types are calm and relaxed under Bush, but when political opposition reigns of course, like in above photo, anger and rage comes out. Back then it was violence, today that hostility has moved into the studio (talk radio/Fox/web sites ect). Kind of the way rappers spew garbage through their CD's, music. Me myself, I don't notice any change in 'race relations' where I stay or anywhere else. I haven't unfriended anyone just cause Obama is President, and no one has unfriended me, simply based on who President is. That's talk radio pap. Blacks who are ignorant are still ignorant under Obama, and whites who are racially prejudice haven't changed either. But also blacks, people with sense, had sense before election and still have it, and whites with sense, common sense not effected by electoral politics, still have the same sense under Obama. The President, any President, is not the source of Love or Hate... The source of Love and Hate comes from either God or the DevilThe source of Love and Hate comes from God and or the Devil...period.

I observe the Evangilical or religious arm or the Main stream GOP have been real quiet lately. I think a lot of them just changed directions, and turned back to the Church. The Church in and of itself is a governing body, with it's own social rules, ethics ect. The other half or so of the 'Christian right' got totally sucked into secular politics, and replaced their Pastors with talk radio hosts like Limbaugh and Savage and Hannity. Politics is very spiritually destructive, and some or maybe many realized what it was changing them into. The church, when practiced right, tends to focus more on forgiveness and redemption, where as politics tends to focus on condemnation of others. It's scary when people sin, pick up sinful traits, and don't even notice it no more. When a lie becomes comfortable and untroubling. When slander becomes OK. Politics does all that to you if in it long enough. Politics in and of itself has become like a religion. Some would even say Politics is the Devils religion (link in red) Main stream talk radio Fox News Conservatism is definitely no longer linked to 'Christanity', it's morphed into something a lot uglier.

What if, just what ifWhat if, just what if Joe Biden decides at last minute to run for President? No one seems to consider this, rather it seems to be about Hillary Clinton already for main Dem nominee. But no one is talking about Joe Biden and or the chances he would have. But what if at last minute, out of left field, out of no where, he decided to throw his hat in the ring and run for President of these here United States? What kind of waves would that send in the political world? The zone always tends to be ahead of the curb, as such, if he does decide to run at last minute I want it on record here first. .

Mandatory voting would assure 'political blacks'/'Political liberals'/'liberal whites'/'LGBT community' never got way at polls ever again.Mandatory Voting?Dumb idea for many reasons. But for the best reason it's dumb, illegal in 'Free' society is something all can agree on regardless of political orientation and that is America is suppose to be 'free'...and freedom means you're not forced to do anything you don't want to, as long as not hurting others. Once Government forces you to do something, you're no longer free. Here's my take on it. Right wingers (with their knee jerk reaction to supposed liberalism) automatically think this will benefit 'the left'. Nothing could be further from the truth, in that in reality most people are 'safe'...or conservative (in non political way). And if forced to vote, most of these 'safe' types would vote for perceived candidate that would be less disruptful to their comfortable traditional lifestyle, or styles. And for knee jerk Fox News/Talk radio brain dense conservatives who think mandatory voting would benefit 'blacks'...wrong. In reality 'blacks' or those deemed as still only represent less than 12% of over all population < link in red And of that 12% probably less than 6% are eligible to vote. Cause out of that 12% you have hobbits, elders, felons ect. So in other words if everyone, every citizen in U.S. forced to vote, the Black vote or voice (assuming there is one anymore) would become void by sheer numbers of majority. So if President some how thinks forcing all to vote would help 'blacks' he's greatly mistaken. Whites and Hispanics would benefit most from this mandatory vote. (click to enlarge) In other words if all peoples forced to vote, than by sheer numbers 'black' interests (assuming there is one) would be muted by sheer numbers of 'whites' and 'Hispanic' interests (assuming there is one simply based on color or heritage). So if this 'forced vote' is somehow being proposed for more equality for minorities, it would actually backfire in a very big way in that minority views would never get way at polls ever again. The reason why they do now is simply cause most Americans choose not to vote, have other things going on in life, or life simply not effected by electoral politics. But if suddenly forced to vote, all that would change. Forced voting is a stupid idea if some how intended to help minority causes, be it blacks rights, Gays, or other such fringe causes. Cause the majority of population in America is still Anglo and 'white' and traditional...and if this class forced to vote, all fringe groups, ideas, canidates would be obliverated at polls. Very dumb idea by President if some how he thinks this will help his cause, whatever that may be.

2015 Correspondence DinnerTonight's Correspondence dinner just seemed kind of flat to me. Not sure if it was the dinner event that seemed flat, or maybe my mood has just changed from a year ago. I'm fair enough to realize just cause something doesn't appeal to me, doesn't mean it's a bust. I just didn't feel as dialed into the event this year as I did last year. It all just kind of felt forced. And the Muslim jokes felt old and stale, you'd think after 7 years people would have gotten over the whole President being a Muslim thing...those jokes just felt flat. I've yet to hear all of the Presidents speech though, which is usually my favorite part. I enjoy seeing him get to play sarcastic radio commentator for a evening and strike back at all those who strike him during the year. Also to much emphasize on celebrities, at least to me, I don't like that. Seems in more and more of these events, common people are shoved further and further aside, yet it's the common people who elect the politicians in the room and pay the salary of the celebs by viewing their movies, watching their TV shows and buying their music. Yet all night long not the politicians or celebs ever thanked the common people who put them all there.

I don't see how the President talking about the need to make it tougher for criminals to get guns, some how derails the grieving process.
Nor do I see how the rebel flag flying in South Carolina causes 'hate'.
I think the President has a right, and is expected to speak out about gun violence.
And I think those in South Carolina have a right to fly the rebel flag, if they so choose.

Also not sure why people who want to be taken seriously with enough time to adequately share ideas would agree to go on either Fox or CNN to do so, especially on 'panel' format, where all they do is pit speaker against speaker, give each 3 minutes to debate, which always turns into yelling match.
No one learns anything, tempers flair, and they cut to commercial as if to say 'gottcha', just another ratings driven segment that drew viewers in to watch commercials that follow.
This stupid and keeps viewers dumb.
At least PBS always guest to actually speak in length about whatever it is they believe.
I'd rather hear someone I disagree with be given time to fairly express their views, than for it to turn into useless shouting match that CNN and Fox both seem to enjoy teasing viewers with.

Props to Glenn Becks handling of SC church incidentFor years I've cast Glenn Beck in with the rest of the ratings driven talk radio types who have made millions appealing to peoples darkest social and political natures. And they continued doing the same following the South Carolina church shooting. Rush, Hannity, Savage, and the rest deflected rage towards shooter, to the President. Accused President of politicizing shooting cause he spoke of the need to keep guns out of criminals hands. Yet they did the same thing by even bringing up what he said. They chose to agitate their audiences by constantly deflecting anger back towards the President, feeding their audience a steady diet of hate and resentment, the same hate and resentment that boiled over in S Carolina shooter. But Glenn Beck did not do that, and instead focused on Love and Redemption. Glenn Beck, unlike the other radio hacks, actually went down into community and met the people effected, instead of just talking about them as distant statistics to be used for political banter. Glenn Beck kept the blame on the shooter, instead of blaming 'The left' or 'The President' as other talk radio hosts and their callers did. I don't normally like Glenn, but found his Friday show to be very organic. I do believe people can change, he's sure made enough money to.

For U.S. Conservatives who are upset over Supreme Court ruling on same sox marriage, I guess there's always IslamI never understood why Ultra Conservatives have always been hostile to Islam when belief system is practically mirrored, with the exception of named deity that is being worshipped. 1. Ultra right wing secular Conservatives hate gays, Islam hates gays. 2. Ultra right wing secular Conservatives believe in Death Penalty, Islam believes in swift death penalty. I could go on and on. The similarities between so called Conservative values and Islamic belief system are a near perfect match. All you gotta do is change the name of the God either side worships...come up with some generic named God, and both sides would be just alike. And if you don't believe me, I'll show you what Conservatism, secular homophobic Conservatism looks like when exported to Africa... (click to enlarge) Basically Christianity unchecked, is no different than Islam in it's ugliness. And many wealthy Christian missionaries have exported their homophobic hate to Uganda Africa, where now they kill and massiquer those suspected of being gay. Images to graphic to upload. Ultra or radical Bigots, who hide behind Christianity in U.S. have imported their political bias to gullable peoples of Africa. One spirit of ugliness with many different names. There's so much more to this story to follow.

I don't think any of us should let the industry known as 'News and entertainment' control our mood or outlook in life.
They, the media, all of it, yes even Fox and talk radio (it's all the same even though they pretend to be different, but it's all the same!)
They the media delight in setting the tone in viewers life, todays headlines will be what they want 'you' to worry about, get upset about, they will barrage you with the same headline for days, give their commentary until they have you feeling the way they want you to feel.
Be careful about that.
Just because they say a story is important, doesn't mean that story is important to you, but they brainwash you into thinking it is.
Turn off your TV, radio, turn off all media, then you'll see what's important to you, and what makes you happy.

If I were advising the President, any President, taking trip into Kenya, as he is here shortly, I'd advise the President to ride shotgun in a fighter jet instead. If I were advising I'd make every President qualify to be able to fly in a fighter jet, so that when they go into volatile areas, they can take fighter jet instead of gigantic Air Force One. And or if AF1 does go, have President on fighter jet instead, as diversion. Not sure why U.S. Presidents are so afraid to be seen as 'Militant', always have to behave like Mr Rogers on foreign trips, instead of dressing up in military uniform like Castro use to do. I think part of Trumps appeal is that he breaks that passive 'Mr Rogers' persona. I think people are ready for a tough President again who thinks outside the box, and likes flexing their Rambo side every now and then. I applauded George Bush Jr when as President he landed on Carrier deck and stepped out of fighter jet. I loved that! This is the kind of President I want again, one who is proud to be a military warrior, proud to put on aviators uniform, and proud to land on flight deck of carrier.
