Tips on how to write good, decent, horror movies or films
1. No rock music or mainstream R&B as background music. Music like that totally distracts from scary mood hopefully film is trying to establish.
The scariest movies in cinema history always use 'sounds' not pop culture studio music, to set the tone.
2. No hobbits or Ducklings in horror movies, most know if hobbits or Ducklings appear as main subjects in horror movie that horror movie has to have happy, Disney like ending.
As soon as hobbits appear in horror movie, as main characters, than instantly the rest of the film becomes totally predictable, cause you know they won't get hurt, which totally spoils the outcome.
Any characters who appear in horror movies should be fair game, period, or simply don't cast them.
3. Enough with the screaming woman BS, one of the most annoying sounds on all the planet earth. Leave the screaming, whining sounding babes out of the script. And besides, most women these days are mentally strong enough not to scream every time something goes wrong, and expect man to come running to save the day.
4. Diversify the image of ghosts and demons.
Don't always make all ghosts appear European and or white. There are plenty of other peoples on the planet which I'm sure could be ghostly figures other than whites.
For instance, how scary would it be to conjure up an angry Jihadist Muslim ghost? or Hindu ghost or African ghost?
There's lots of people suffering around the world who died unjustly, and I'm sure their spirits are beconning to come back and wreak havoc. (Within the story pages of Hollywood).
According to Hollywood most ghosts are nothing more than the conjuring or projection of 'white mans lust', in that they're always female, or young girls, the two things white male writers fantasize about the most, so you can always tell who wrote movie by how the ghosts are depicted.
As if only 'cute white girls and women' can appear as ghosts...
It would be hella scary to for once see young black female ghost with wild looking hair, or some ghost that use to be a gangster.
Writers need to expand the notion of what really scares people and quit just writing from own lust of view.
