Black Americans often caught in middle
Many immigrant Islamic followers are darker skinned, from very light, to African dark, shades very tremendously.
Many share more physical traits with white Europeans, than they do with African Americans.
But the one thing that prevents a seamless merger of 'whites' and Muslims is their chosen religion of Islam.
Many even have same ancient ancestral lines of heritage, and or only separated by chosen religion or culture.
In the middle East that's fine when in the majority, but in America tends to make one stand out.
And that's where American blacks, and immigrant Muslims(or other) have a odd social connection during times of persecution.
American blacks can never ever pass for 'white' or 'Aryan', but Islamic immigrants can.
All a Islamic immigrant would have to do is change their religion and most would be immediately accepted and embraced by 'white America' as being one of their own, or Italian or Greek ect.
On the other hand black Americans, no matter how patriotic, loyal, nice kind or innocent, will forever be portrayed by 'white America' (collectively) as just simply being inherently bad or negative do to racial components.
And it's that fact there that often and sometimes creates a confusion in many African Americans on who's side to be on in times of social strife.
If one is 'white' they will never ever understand this.
In other words this is how a Afro-American would see it.
'Whites will always, generally, hate, loath and despise me simply for being black, and do to imbedded beliefs handed down from colonial times, on the other hand Muslims, although Islamic, really only care about what religion I am, their bias of me is only based on religion and not color'
Many Afro Americans are not Muslim, but tend to gravitate towards people of darker skin tone during times of turmoil, as do whites tend to gravitate towards others with Aryan traits during times of trouble.
As with Asians ect.
Most Afro Americans have been converted to Christianity through 400 years of colonial influence, conquered, enslaved and then force fed new religion by the very ones who chained 'them'.
Many Afro Americans just think they were born and woke up Christian one day, and have no idea how for fathers forcibly converted to Christianity.
As such any historical connection to Islam, from Africa, have all been lost, as new Western identity has been implanted into the minds of Afro Americans.
So Afro Americans, many, feel caught in the middle when it comes to choosing sides.
Instincts say 'Hey, be on the side of those who look like you' but modern culture, Faith, habits and practices say 'Well they may look like me, have darker skin, but practice a religion I'm not familiar with' I'll stick to my McDonalds and tabloid TV pop culture'
One of the reasons early slave traders, society, stripped African slaves of language, culture, and sense, is that they knew even back then that culture is what unites, culture is what gives people a sense of collective identity, purpose and pride, and self worth.
Strip away all culture and language, one begins to loose sense of self worth and is vunerable to the new definition capturers decide to lay upon them.
You basically become a 'void', an empty void that anyone can fill up with their own toxic definition or good definition.
American language is filled with names that were used to reinforce this idea that slaves were 'nothing', zero, a zero people without any identity or purpose other than to be used as labor.
And these ideas didn't just end once slavery ended, ideas get passed down for many generations by all.
Example if you think, have been taught, to think someone is a nothing, then why would you want anyone in family to date a 'nothing'?
All this stuff gets handed down and doesn't just end with Government legistlation.
Getting a bit off point here but will continue as time allows.
