Arlo wireless security camera Purchased at Best Buy...>>> Best Buy for $154 or so, not counting taxes. After buying I returned product, here's why1. No support, none, zero. After signing in, creating Arlo account, plugging base in, could not get 'view' on PC, and not sure I had proper smart phone for phone view. You go to their support and all you get is the whole 'Go to support forum' deal, which of course makes you feel very un important and unwanted by the company who's product you just purchased. Kind of like how the Republican leadership makes their electorate feel lately. So I took product back, $154.00 + tax, is to much to spend and not get any results. Purchased at Best Buy, sadly they assume everyone is tech savy and can write computer code. Best Buy could triple their sales volume if they'd hire enthusiastic floor sales personal and train them in store products. Nothing worse, more of a turn off, than floor sales person who knows less about a product than I do, or who rushes you along, as if you're a bother to them. Anyways, I can't comment on quality of Arlo security camera as I never saw image, never saw control monitor, had no idea if was recording. I think you need 'apps', and the right IPhone, I read where it can work on laptop or PC, but never could get it to work on mine, so I returned it. If you buy, maybe you'll have better luck.

I'll tell you what's creepyWhat's creepy is when trying to install security camera on balcony, some person comes lurking in the dark, but doesn't see you, so you duck, and you're like 'What are they doing out this time of the night'...   Now not sure if I want to know what goes on at night, when I'm asleep...

I have to share this 'Defender' commercial cause it actually made me laugh!
Very few commercials make me laugh, this one did, and on top of being a security camera brand I'd swear by, top notch company here.

With all the sec cam devices I got, I really haven't recorded anything out of the ordinary accept this here..  Two guys sneaking into my neigbor's place about 3-4 months ago. I never alerted anyone, cause to close to event, and where I stay, the last thing you want to do is 'tata tell'...I think female Lesbian neigbor has since moved out and on, nothing but drama while their were there, them and their other female Lesbian roommate always fought and made lots of noise, glad they're gone. |

With all the sec cam devices I got, I really haven't recorded anything out of the ordinary accept this here.. Two guys sneaking into my neigbor's place about 3-4 months ago. I never alerted anyone, cause to close to event, and where I stay, the last thing you want to do is 'tata tell'...I think female Lesbian neigbor has since moved out and on, nothing but drama while their were there, them and their other female Lesbian roommate always fought and made lots of noise, glad they're gone. Dude is like a black spider man or something. They seem perfectly adapted for the jungle with how well he climbs onto porch. |

I bought another 'cam' for my other security camera system which I can view on my phone from anywhere, even 200 miles away, and I get alerts on the phone, can talk through the camera even, but I placed this one on the front door area, and it's amazing what you see, the people you see, even your own neighbors you never had any idea you had.
Sometimes even, you just wish you didn't see stuff.....but I mainly got it for Amazon deliveries, I mean a usually use their 'lockers', but some times certain products can't delivery to lockers so I got this second security cam to keep track of packages and put my mind at ease, and or if there's any thieves, I'll at least be able to see who are what they are, and have that power or leverage over them should I decide to 'act'...or not.
I'll share the type of camera I got on a future post, it's not the one above, the one above is a 'defender' which uses like old fashion 1980's technology, but it's reliable, but have to wait until home to view and have to transfer 'card' to computer to view.
The above cam is not really useful unless home or just want to review events that occurred while gone.

Actually the heavy set person is or was a woman, and 'Lesbian', and the guy with her must of been a relative or friend, cause the heavy set Lesbian woman had a female former lover in the unit, and like a lovers fued, her former female lover inside locked her out...they have both since left and moved on. Where I stay, lots of urban females are becoming Lesbian. |

One of these nights I'll turn one of the cameras in on self as I sleep, and maybe capture some 'paranormal' type activity, or at least see self sleeping at night, and fast frame it for comedy.

All security cammed up (made up word I guess)  All security 'cammed' up (red line under 'cammed' so must not be a word, oh well, it is now) But ye, I have security cams in front, back and inside place, not that that will keep me safe, cause it won't, will not, but what it will do is give me a bit more peace of mind when away. I was using these old fashion like 1970's type hard wire sec cams before, but have been slowly evolving into modern wifi type cams, where you can view from phone while away, anywhere in the world practically, while at work, whatever. Not trying to spy or pry on anyone, but, but, I do want sense of 'knowing' when away, and not sure why everyone doesn't do or have the same. Crime would drop big time if bad folks knew most homes had video cams, or even apartments. But most are to lazy or cheap to buy, not me....I need the peace of mind. Also these new cams have 2 way speakers, so if away and maintanance enters place, you can tell them to close the door so flies don't enter, or tell them to wipe their feet ect. But again, true hard core bad guys could care the less about security cams. And in fact could get you in trouble if one of your cams happens to record some important event, and bad guys know you have it on record. Oh well, can't over think things to much or will be afraid to even ever get out of bed. All I know is as of now, cammed up, and not done... I want more views, I want camera to even view my 'bedding' area when I'm gone...to be continued.

Still have older hardwired Defender security cams, along with new wireless ones
Still have older styled wired Defender security camera system, but also have newer wireless ones you can view from your cell phone.
But just removed memory card for Defender, and I have the sensitivity turned up to high, cause it picks up to much, branch movement, the rain falling, and as such card fills up quickly.
I mean there's some stuff on this card dating back to 2020.
I kind of want to save it and make a boring YT video out of it, just stitch all the 10 second record sessions together, it would be the most boring video ever.
That being said, I can attest for the Defender security brand, cause I've had that thing for 6 years now, and it still works perfectly. And the Cameras have always been outside in all weather, cold, winter, heat, and summer, and the system still works as if brand new.
But again, it takes a sd memory card, the model I have, as such cannot be viewed remotely.

I just wish I had had it turned on when a tree fell on my car over a year ago, I know that would of gotten a lot of hits on YouTube, and maybe a legal claim, but on that day, darn it, I had the camera unplugged.

To me, now days, with all the crime and violence, if you don't have every inch of your life on film, or security cameras, than you're dumb  I mean who wouldn't have security cameras around their place now days? Especially if live in a bad area or the ghetto or the hood, or now days even rich places, since criminals love to hit rich neighborhoods now. It just makes the job of the police so much easier if they can get a discription of who assaulted you or stole your stuff, or broke into your place. Why wouldn't everyone have security cameras in or around their place or at the front and back door at minimum? Also, they can help prove you were where you were if ever accussed of being some place you were not. Me, I'm filmed on my job, filmed when I enter place, or leave. But I don't have a dashcam anymore, I did, but found out the batteries on dashcams have a limited life, and cannot be recharged when that lifespands over. Mine lasted a few months, but a few months is to short when paying 100 for a dash cam, unless they've gotten better by now.
