War Movies, from A-Z all category's, era's, and genre'sTo me, one of the best under rated Vietnam schemed movies of all time, only it's urban orientated, so not included with the pop culture classics. But every bit as good, deep, if not more so, than some of the more mainstream Vietnam movies of the past. Movie totally takes you back to a different era, although equally dirty era, still seems more innocent and cleaner...even if young, a mild, or not born yet. The past always tends to seem more innocent regardless, if haven't seen this movie, or haven't seen in a while, definitely worth checking out again. One of the all time ultimate street old hustler songs ever created. Sad, yet spirited... The 70's was an incredible decade.

Life is no jokeMovie or no movie, life is no joke...be glad safe at home, comfortable, eating cornflakes, while loved and in secure home or environment. Some aren't so lucky, and for whatever reason strayed, by accident. All usually start off loved, then for whatever reason just end up adrift, at the mercy of the streets. The above movie 'Dead President's' simply takes a closer look at the 'street' side of the Vietnam war and it's aftermath...

The longest Day - 1962
This has still got to be one of the best war movies ever created or produced.
The breed of men in this movie really no longer exist in today's world, at least not in the West, sad to say.

The longest Day - 1962 This has still got to be one of the best war movies ever created or produced. The breed of men in this movie really no longer exist in today's world, at least not in the West, sad to say. Great movie, but, looking back...
1. They should of carpet bombed Normandy beach for hours, with heavy bombers, low passes, before sending 1000's of men to their death.
2. They really could of used the Navy Seals back then, or 'Frog Men', to have snuck ashore earlier and better scoped out the enemies positions, and defenses.
3. They have 'black history' month cause yes indeed, people of color participated in all American wars, even yes, WW 2, but do to racism back then, in movies, no black folks allowed to be on film to be seen as brave, like their white counterparts, or Indians, ect. But if watch real footage, you will see people of color during that invation, but Hollywood forbid that reality to be on film.
4. Looking back, you realize that war, or battle, was won more in suicidal bravery, and body count, more so than 'brains'. The Generals just seemed to be willing to sacrifice 10's of 1000's of soldiers, sailers, Marines, to get the job done, such a tactic would not be acceptable today.
Again, I know it's easy for me to say all that in hindsite.

Also, not a single shell fired from the allied battle ships seemed to have hit their targets. Their targets being the fortified German machine gun bunkers.

WW2 was sloppy warfare, the war was won more so on massive body count and bravery, more so than brains.
Very sloppy warfare, that type of body sacrifice would not be acceptable today. But for that era, that's all they knew, just throw live bodies at the bullets, and which ever Army still had bodies standing, won the battle.
Very very sloppy and bloody warfare indeed.

I don't know, I mean you look at the Ukraine/Russian war going on today, and you wonder if anything has even been learned?

Ye, Russia wasting 1000's of missiles on useless civilian targets, instead of using them on tactical targets. Russian Generals fight like they're drunk. The Russian military has no precision at all.
