This 'Black and Decker' food blender broke before I even got a chance to use it... At the base of the blender is a 'O' seal...which prevents blended material from leaking out of base. It only comes with one seal...and seal broke while blades were spinning. You would think a brand with as much history and product recognition as Black and Decker would at least throw in 2-4 extra seals...if not than you're forced to take the whole product back and exchange it, just for that rubber seal. I paid $29.00 for this model...next time I will buy Oyster brand and see if they're any better...but honestly I thought Black and Decker was a step up from Oyster. Anyways...I'm disappointed...cause inspite the blenders sophisticated looks it did not live up to name. Now when I blend food, it leaks from the bottom. Do not buy this brand of blender...that is my conclusion after getting burned by it.

This is the 'O' ring or seal at bottom of glass jar assembly that ripped apart. They sell no replacement parts at the store, and so force you to go online to parts dept to order new ring. They charge $10.00 + for new ring...1/3 the price of blender.... Blender costs $29.00 and some change...cheap, rubber gasket costs $10.00?... Sounds like a racket to me...it would be like purchasing a car for $30,000 and then tires costing $10,000 to fix or replace... Scheme: Lets built cheap gasket that we know will break or shred, let's only ship product with one ring, that way when ring breaks, stupid consumer orders another one for $10.00...not including shipping... Ye, that's honorable' I'd rather super glue the ring together or calk the base than play Black and Deckers little game...they should stick to power drills...

Wow, the above posts are over 10 years old, shows you how long this blog forum has been around. Also, there were pictures that accompanied those posts, not sure what happened to them.
