This post is long over due...
As the Superbowl nears, you will start hearing more and more sportscasters get more brutal in their presentation of Ray Lewis...
These sportscasters, be it radio or TV, will try to define Ray Lewis in the ugliest way possible, by always bringing up his past...
The past where he got into some kind of tussle, that left a few fatalities...and Ray Lewis was cleared...
This occured around 13 years ago....
Basically the guy gets into a street fight, and survived, came out standing...was victorious...and for that he's demonized by mostly 'white' sportcasters and commentators...
And even they'll be quick to admit, the people involved in this case weren't exactly ideal citizens...
Infact, they were the type of citizens these same sportcasters would be calling 'hoods' and 'thugs' on any other night or occasion...
So for them to act like Ray Lewis just went out and picked a fight with 2 prestine, wealthy Harvard graduates, is a bit dishonest on their part....
When you get in a fight, your suppose to win...after all, it's your life your trying to defend...and in the heat of the moment, anything could occur, doesn't mean it was intentional...but when adrenaline is pumping, it's fight or flight reaction time...and your survival instincts take over...
If someones trying to hurt you or worse, you have the right to defend yourself...but not according to these dense headed, self-righteous, Ray Lewis hateing sportscasters who love to rag on the mans character for an inncedent he was involved with 13 years ago...
They, these sportscasters, all of them, are the ones who keep bringing it up, not the fans, or the fans of football, who just want to enjoy the moment...
But these prude, hateful, spiteful, sportscasters, keep re-hashing Ray Lewises past.
To me that's wrong...and them bringing it up every other topic, isn't going to change my view of the man...
Heck, now they even question and mock his faith and belief in God...
Maybe cause it's more pure and genuine than their own....
I don't need nerdy sportscasters to cast doubt into my mind as to whether Ray Lewises faith in God is genuine or not...
They've gone to far when they do that...
They, these slimey sportcasters, insist on defining Ray Lewis only in a way that suits their tilted view of others, particularly blck males...
They won't allow Ray to be free, and to grow, like most, instead they want to keep him in the 'hood'....
I see the real Ray Lewis...it's them who are seeing Ray Lewis through their own bigoted filter or lense...
Ray Lewis is like the rest of us, you make mistakes, learn from it, move on and grow...
Why they are not giving him the chance to do that is beyond me, and it's ugly and foul on their part....and I've lost respect for a lot of these sportcasters who have decided to marr, taint, an otherwise positive Superbowl, by continueing to re-hash this Ray Lewis story...
News for you selfish, selfrightious, sportcasters...FANS don't want to hear this crap...not now...not dureing a festive Superbowl week or weekend...
It's you guys in the MEDIA who keep bringing it up...you bring it up, and then respond to yourselves, as if it's us your talking to...
Cause if it were myself, or other fans you were talking to, we would simply tell you to:
And to move on to more positive things and or stories pertaning to the Superbowl...
