Newer decent horror movies worth watching This section here is long over do in that there are many newer horror movies going 10 years back, that are released under the publics radar...why? Why?, do to all the different ways people receive media now, in the past with only 3 to maybe 12 ways all media flowed through, movies premieres were seen by all, but today with 1000's of different channels, streaming networks, this that, even old fashion antenna TV, you just don't see movie premieres anymore of any catigory. I can't tell you the last time I saw a new horror movie premiere on any channel, now you have to go online and seek them out, not sure how movies make money anymore? And now with covid and theaters being shut down, where do new movies earn their expenses back? I think the days of top earning blockbuster films are gone, where millions would go out and watch 1 or 3 movies during the weekend and revenue records set, I think those days are gone forever. It must be extremely hard to be a up and coming actor these days since now studios don't have to pay 'you' so much since they don't earn as much cause of all the ways to disperse movies now. Anyways, all that aside I figured here would be a good spot to give a few horror movies some spotlight that I feel years ago if released in normal movie theaters would of been big hits. So with that being said, lets begin.

Ginger Snaps
Why this movie?
Cause it's clever, even by yesterdays standards it's clever and not dorky.
It takes elements of many movies we've seen in the past, and TV shows, and combine them near perfectly in this film.
From 'Family Ties', to 'Carrie', to 'dorky parents' not getting what their teenage hobbits are going through, to the movie 'Halloween', and 'The Howling', it just takes themes we're all familiar with and combines them together.
Even to 'pacs' you make or we made with our friends when younger that seem to erode as time goes by.
This in one of the few movies I actually watched straight through (well two sittings)
What made me actually watch the whole movie?
1. Not predictable like most horror movies are.
2. Characters are interesting and feel like people you know or grew up around and or can see elements of self there within.
3. Good acting, which really means you can't tell they're acting for the most part.
4. A bit of 'dark humor' mixed in
5. A reality based ending
And I could go on.
It's a decent movie if into horror and I'd encourage people who are into 'horror' or scary movies to seek out others on your own and help support those who film them, for they gotta eat to, and the more views they get, the more they can eat and pay their bills.
More scary movies of interest to follow, that is time allowing.

Synchronic - 2021
This one here is actually pretty good, and to me falls under mystery/horror/scary/drama type of movie. It's very well written and produced. The scenes are like Gotham city or something, but on the drug side of things. Or it kind of has a darker blade runner, or batman type of feel to it.
It's almost done in a abstract way, in my opinion. The movie is about a designer street drug that has, well, ______ effects on those who take it. And there's also many other smaller twists in the movie.
Still watching, about 50% into the movie, but so far holding up, as such I may finish watching later, in that when I do find a good movie, I like to stretch it out over a few days.

Racoon Valley = $175.00 budget
This movie only cost $175 dollars to make, yet one of the scariest movies I've seen in a while. Actually, I've seen it before, but it hit me just as hard, if not harder, the second time around.

Don't blink
This one is good, but mainly cause the actors cast to play the roles are convincing. This is one of those movies that could go either way, it could be really good or really bad, and what determines that is the performance of those in it.
It's a scary/horror movie with a Rod Sterling Twilight Zone twist. It's a scary/horror movie for the thinking, those who like a little 'thought puzzle' behind their movie viewing.
And it's a shame that movies like this tend to get lost in the bombardment of constant movie releases from 100's of studios and dozens of streaming channels, I mean who can keep up? I think had this movie been released prior to 2016, it would of done a lot better at the box office.
Now, I'm not even sure how acting pays, since the era of superstars is basically over, at least as far as acting goes, cause the industry is just to saturated now.
Now it's like you see an actor once in a movie, and never ever see them again, you can't build a following like that.
Anyways, if you like a scary movie that challenges you to think, and has decent acting, by today's standards, than you might wanna check this one out.

Alive
This one, hmm. The premise is very original, but the movie is a bit to long for me. When movies are to long, they risk people not sticking around long enough to view the ending or endings.
This one is a horror/thriller of sorts, and takes place in a large, abandoned hospital. Two people wake up in that abandoned hospital, and are being treated by a very odd Dr.
I can't say anymore, but again, the premise of this movie is very original. Watch it to the end, even if have to watch over several days.

Bone Cold
I finally found a decent off beat type of horror/suspense/sci-fi movie worth watching. This movie combines a lot of different elements, but it works.
I don't want to say to much or I'll give it away.. I will say though, that if like suspense, mixed in with horror, mixed in with some paramilitary type stuff, you'll like this movie. It's a very believable movie with good acting to boot.

Renfield- 2023?
I could of sworn this movie, which I must be getting mixed up with another, came out long time ago, as in a decade or more ago, but actually this movie here, a black comedy about Dracula, 'Renfield', I guess was released in 2023??
Wow, either way it's good, and I'm watching it now, about 75% into it, and loving it so far. It's the near perfect combination of gore, adventure, wit, humor, fantasy and more.
It's a fast paced movie that keeps your or at least my, attention for sure. And it has instantly become one of my favorites of all time, instantly...wow.

Actually, I take back my earlier review of this movie, it was good during the first 40% of movie, when Dracula and darkness were in control, but then about halfway through it takes on a cartoonish feel, as in Dracula's familiar turns on him cause suddenly decides he wants to be 'good'. How many times have we seen this played out before?Interview with a vampire, the auto bots, superman, on and on, where they build up the villain, then the villain is betrayed by someone they trust, all because the person they trusted has some 'Humanity is good' moment. BS... humanity isn't good, look at the world today. You're individual life, your family may seem good to you, cause you love them, but outside of your individual life experience, sorry, but humanity as a whole is anything but good. Even the bible says Jesus himself is coming back to destroy humanity, so maybe these villains, Dracula, is doing god a favor...who knows.
