I'm older, but you know what, I realize that it seems that the older you get, the dumber you get, cause you're so many years removed from school or college (Of course that depends on what trade or industry or career your in) But if just into manual labor type stuff, the older you get, the dumber you get, and your brain becomes lazy, and you soon forget how to critically think about stuff.
I need to re sharpen my brain, before I even think about doing anything else. I have to get in the habit of learning again. Sure, I'm older, and I no longer dream of being the best at anything, or landing the perfect career at my age, rather I'm doing it for myself, to keep myself engaged in the world as I age.
And for other reasons. Also, when continue to challenge the mind to learn, as you age, it fights off many age related brain diseases. The brain will literally rot sooner, if you don't keep it sharpened, and nothing does that better than math.
I'm tired of running away from math, I really am. Also, when in college, even when older, your network of people grows, and you're interacting with others who want to better themselves.
Where as on the 9-5 labor job, everyone just works, and wants to go home and there's really no relationships after you punch out.
Life isn't over till it's over, and I'm realizing that now, there is no gliding till your dead, rather you're alive until you die, so while alive, I may as well keep learning and stimulating my mind, and meeting new people and giving self a reason to hope for the future again.

I've scheduled self to take a pre college test, the PERT I believe, I mean why not. Even though I'm older than college age, but still you have to take it.
It's just social media has ran it's course with me, I no longer no what to do with it. And I have no idea all the newer sites people are on, nor do I care anymore. I want to go back to how things used to be, where you actually meet real people. I'm tired of all this online stuff, all this comment stuff, it's deadening to me now.

I think online chatter is just declining all together, as the original social media crowd is older now, and the younger crowd, well, they go to more private or 'group specific' type of online places that of course older square types don't know about or care about.
Even on YouTube, even the chatter there is not like it use to be, I think people are just moving on to other things.

Also, if not a so called 'difference maker' (whatever the f that means, cause they don't make a difference to me)...but if not one, you're not allowed to be heard anymore online. So you're basically just wasting your time blabbing to no one.
Where as when in college, whatever you write often times gets published and people tend to listen to you more, and word spreads of your wisdom or insite.

What I find sickening about even online 'learn math' type of sites, is the cookies disclaimer, the whole 3rd party BS crap. I'm just so turned off by that, that I think I'll just buy a book, a good old fashion basic math course book; that way I can open the book, study, read, ect, without being tracked by 'third party' ad crap. It just sickens me you can't even study math online without the prying eyes of 3rd party whatever's.
I'm just going to order a few old fashion paper math books from Amazon...cause I really need to brush up on my skills. I was on one site, and wow, I forget that even 6th graders are learning about decimals, fractions, and by the time in the 8th grade learning about geometry and more.
Dang, where was I? I think I must have avoided all the math classes.

Ye, I'm thinking maybe I really do need to brush up on my math skills again, before embarrassing myself by taking some college level placement test. I don't want to waste my time and do bad on the test, cause I'm telling you, if like me, and haven't taking any math class in over a decade, and don't use math at work, your level, like mine, has probably fallen back to a 6th grade level of math understanding....let alone high school level.
So ye, I just ordered a math book from Amazon, like refresher course for adults, every day math stuff, like division, fractions, decimals, percentages, I've forgotten how to do all that stuff.
