Well my adventure here at this online school/course is pretty much all but over. It climaxed with me flying out to Los Angeles to pitch a screenplay. Basically a worthless and expensive exercise....especially since the producer they arranged for me to meet is all but out of the game...so what was the point?
Shame on them for doing that, talk about incompetent..I mean if I were mean spirited I'd say something, and maybe I will later, but trying to stay positive.
My advice for anyone wanting to get into film, instead of wasting your money on courses, or some expensive course, just use that money to make your film, hire a film crew, etc, and learn as you go on your own set...and others will help you. Cause in the end, they will tell you that to make a film you need financing, so why waste your money in school, when could finance your own first movie and work on getting it bought or distributed.
It's really that simple...you fund your own first low budget movie, and that way you have creative say in the process, with advice from those working for you, like the director of photography etc.
Anyways, I'm not home, so will keep this short, but will add more later. A bit wore out and have a whole day of traveling to do tomorrow.
I don't know how celebrities or news people do it, I mean flying, airports, packing, going through security, having your stuff searched, it all takes a lot out of you...and then the crummy flight, the scary landing, the crambed seats...no thanks.
traveling by air is way overrated...

Film school/course vs just using that money to fund your own movie
Is film school or screenplay school worth it? Depends.
But also, the days of just writing a screenplay and expecting some studio to buy it, hand you 50 gran, and all is good, well, those days are pretty much done.
I've pretty much concluded this course, and have mixed feelings. If could do it again, I would not, there's a lot cheaper alternatives. I would not do it again, and would instead invest my money in more tangible items...land, etc, things that will be there for you regardless of what kind of day you have.
Anyways, watch the video if trying to decide between film school or screenwriting school vs using that money to just fund your own movie.

Wished I could have made this into a movie
Would still make a great movie, but I wasn't introduced to the right people to make it happen. As usual, everyone fate stuck me around hid my talent and potential.

No matter how talented you think you are, if someone doesn't set you on a couch as a way of getting doors to open up for you, forget about it, don't waste your time or money.
If older and ugly, good luck...unless able to fund your own projects initially.
