Also, I wonder if having a roommate would stunt my creativity?
There are different types of roommates, some do actually keep to themselves, but others grow attached to you the minute you show them attention.
Some roommates like want to merge with you, as if married or related, regardless of their gender, and those types become really draining and emotionally demanding, thus end up becoming a big distraction to your own personal goals while at home, cause you're always tending to them, and they're in constant need of interaction.
I consider myself a content creater, sure, maybe not a famous one, but none the less that's what I do, but in order to do that I need 'space', and privacy.
For example, when you Podcast, often times you're talking to yourself, into the mic, for a future audience to hear.
But someone living with you might not understand that dynamic, and as such you may become self conscious and feel silly talking to yourself with someone else in your place.
Little things like that can and do end up eroding your ability to be creative, when another persons around.
So that's something I'd have to consider.
-----------------------------------------
I just know in the past, when either had relatives living with me or another, I changed, I stayed in room most of the time, I felt I couldn't really be 'me', I felt I had to downsize in order to make them feel comfortable, thus cramping my own style.
Well, I'm older now so doubt I'd care as much, but you never know, cause things like that creep up on you bit at a time.
My creativity is what keeps me sane, and having whole place to be creative in is a big part of that cause I certainly can't afford to rent a studio every time I'm in a creative mood.
Anyways, that's just something for myself and even others to consider when it comes to getting a roommate.
