McDonalds profit for 2012 $6.92 billion...
Taco Bells profits, around $337 million for 2012
Taco Bell is owned by an umbrella corp, which also owns KFC and a few other chains...so that's combined.
Anyways...today was a day when fast food workers around the nation (a few anyways)...took time off to protest low wages...
And I think they have a point...sorry if I'm not a bought paid for and owned ratings driven talk radio hosts who themselves rake in millions a year, while telling their listeners to be content with slave wages...
Nope...I'm a real person with feet.
And after standing all day in hot kitchen...feet and ankles and bones and joints get sore.
And to do that every day, for 30-40 hours a week, and still not be able to cover basic living expenses...well somethings wrong...
Expecially when profits of fast food companies are in the 300 million to $6 billion dollar range.
Yes...I know...it's all about the stocks, and the share holders...who want to maximum returns for their dollars...at the expense of the worker at the bottom...
Yes..I understand it's the publicly traded companies responsibility to maximize share holders profits...and one way to do that is to minimize workers salaries, and all other over head.
Take care of your millionare share holders...who do no physical work, while getting the most labor out of your workers as you can, without actually becoming China.
Yes, I get it...
But I also get that life is short...healthy usable life is even shorter...and every minute of the day counts.
Every week counts...or is counted against you, us, in the total amount of time we have to be alive.
And I totally understand why some, many, are frustrated at the fact they bust their butts all week long, working as hard as they can, producing...and still can't pay the light bill, while company they work for rakes in an annual profit of Burger King $117 million 2012
Again, life is short...millionares get to live like 10 lives over again, where as income poor labor class just can't do that...
When you're income poor, while working full time, multiple jobs...what millionare stock holders can accomplish in one weekend, may take a income poor labor class person 10 plus years to accomplish.
The body wears out, you get sick...and soon you can never do what you dreamed of doing.
While Millionare stock holders have lived 10 + lives...in that their wealth allows them to fulfill any and every dream they ever had, and that of their off spring...
Are the poor income working class jelous?
Heck no...they simply want to maximize their labor vs income vs energy vs time allowed on earth as much as the next investor class person does.
And if I'm going to cry and symphosize with any class, it will be those who work at the bottom...fellow human beings who bust their butts every day...work 1-4 jobs, and still can't make it.
While others sail on Yachts, and fly in Private jets, while producing nothing.
Sorry, but they produce nothing...and would drop of exhaustion if they had to work at a Crystals hamburger restaurant for just one shift...
Way to go fast food workers...I'm on your side...
