Amityville Horror, original 1979
Sorry but the original Amityville Horror belongs here, as one of the best horror movies of all times that seem to get bumped from modern movie lists.
And no, I'm not talking no stupid plastic remake either, only the original, as produced and seen, back when people, youth, even you, actually read books first.
Those days are gone, and now modern horror movie producers insult us all with 'sound' and 'visual' only, but no back story, no haunting back story they way the older producers included in with movie.
This one will still scare you if alone in home at night and viewing by open window with no curtains..

Ghost Ship
Ghost Ship is yet another classic horror movie, or at least 'scary movie' that never seems to make the so called 'experts' list of all time best horror movies, but it made the zones.
In fact watching it right now cause on Netflix, and to go back and watch one can really see how ahead of it's time it was.
It's refreshing that the movie doesn't lead with 'soxuality', but rather leads with wonder and fear over a ghost ship, that is so refreshing, where as today's low IQ horror always leads with 'soxuality', which totally spoils it for true horror fans who just want to get scared, or made to wonder, without Playboy models, posing as actresses, all over the screen.
But anyhow in this movie the acting is good, the scenes are good, the sound track music fits into the movie and so forth.
May seem a little slow paced for today's movie goers who want cheap thrills, and blood scenes every 5 seconds. But for the more seasoned horror movie viewer, you'll like this one and or remember it.
It's kind of like a ghost ship version of the space horror flick 'Event Horizon'

Apollo 18I found this movie about supposed lost mission to the moon, to be kind of creepy. Kind of done in the Paranormal Activity bio manner. This movie, if watched alone, at night, and with decent speakers, will give make you squirm a bit. Some thought it was Korney, but I liked it and is why I'm adding it to this collection of good to decent horror movies that never seem to make lists.. I'm about to watch this movie right now...why? Cause I feel 'distant', and watching 2-3 humans in far outer space, on the moon, far alone, just kind of fits my mood right now...so if anyone wants to watch with me, please do so. I know, it's Friday, and I'm alone like some geek, sorry. Going out, with my personality, would get me into issues. I'm still to s-xy to some and that breeds resentment, so I'm happy staying home.

Devil
Been trying to track this one down for years, but thought it was titled 'Elevator', no wonder could never find it.
I'd call this a horror/thriller/mystery genre of movies.
It's 'dark' but very clever and realistic.
If can watch whole movie it's for sure worth checking out, it's like a game of chess or something, only more is at stake than just winner and loser.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers..1978?
Not sure why this version of the body snatchers never gets mentioned along with other horror classics cause in my opinion it deserves to be there.
It's a more sophisticated horror movie though, even Lenoy is in it 'Spock' from Star Trek, the the character he plays totally fits him.
After all these years this movie is still a good watch, and really does apply to today's times, the whole societal control concept, kind of what's going on now with big tech and their censoring of everyone.

Killer Clowns from Outer Space - 1988 Not sure why this movie never gets mentioned in coolest horror movies of all times, I mean many people have clown phobia, and this movie here will for sure ignite that phobia. I saw it years later after original release date, but was impressed with the realism of it, even for 1988 technology and effects. It's like dark horror type of movie, but you really don't hear much about this movie any more outside of 'niche' sites like this. It's worth watching if haven't already seen it.

Ahh, who can forget 'Misery' - 1990
1990??, wow, has it been that long?? boy how time sure fly's.
That aside, who can forget the creepy effect of this horror/thriller movie where travel Author wrecks vehicle and then is taken in by, well, a caretaker type and from there all hell brakes out but in slow motion.
This for sure is a all time classic horror thriller, yet fails to get mentioned in any 'top 10 lists' of any kind....but here in the Zone it will and does get a place on the 'Hall of famed' movies that should get mentioned but do not.
Watch the whole movie if you can, it's a ageless theme that applies even today.

Wilderness -2006
This one is more 'Horror/thriller/slasher' type movie, none the less it's good.
It's European English though, like 'Netherlands' type English, funny hearing black dude, raised in that culture, sound more Irish ect, than Irish Americans do, shows how 'the brain' simply mimics and learns culture raised in...that aside the movie is full of surprises and will keep you guessing.
I like scary movies that keep you guessing is why still watching this one but in parts.
I rarely will watch a movie from start to finish in one setting anymore, I usually watch 5 minutes here, 10 minutes there, 15 minutes later, and so forth.
Anyways, again this movie proves how bad the movie industry has been the last decade or so at advertising new releases...this one came out in 2006 but still feels very 'fresh'.
Waring, some of the scenes are very graphic, like Friday the 13th type graphic.

When it comes to scary movies, top 10 or even top 50 lists, this movie never gets mentioned. It's kind of like a '28 days later' meets 'day of the dead', meets red necks flick, but it does the trick. I would have to throw it in the zombie genre, and it does the trick. It's a good, well written, slightly low budget, yet effective horror movie. And has the feeling of a future 'cult classic' type of movie. But yet it never gets mention on top scary movie lists, accept here, in the Twylight Zone. Cause here, things are evaluated differently, and fairly. And this movie here, 'The Crazies' is definitely worth watching if you like horror and surprises. The characters in the movie are like your neighbors, people you were raised with. Good convincing actors/actresses, are always the key to a movie. Good performers can even make an other wise low budget dud, come to life and seem very realistic. I definitely give this horror classic a thumbs up and toss it in the 'best horror movies of all times that never get mentioned' bin... Here you can view the whole movie 'The Crazies'...this movie is still worth viewing if like classic horror.

1984
Who hasn't heard of George Orwell's book '1984'?
'Big brother is watching' ect
Well I never knew there was a movie also, but there is and I watched it earlier.
This movies not so much 'horror' as it is creepy, in that it deals with the very creepy concept of a society where the citizens are all watched and monitored and where free thought is frowned upon and 'thought compliance' encouraged...is that not today?
Do not people today get punished for thinking outside the 'box'?.
Watch the movie for yourself and you decide.

The Dead - 2011
This for sure is one of the scariest, more realistic, zombie movies of all time, as such amazing how little mention it gets on 'top 10' lists of any kind.
Many good movies, during this time, were released, then never to be seen again, right as the social media world begin becoming dominant.
(Compared to now, social media was much more fun and wide open back in 2011), but as far as movies go, still pretty much could only view movies at the theater or cable, as in Showtime or HBO...yuk.
That being said, watch the preview of this movie above, and if into zombie movies, it might compel you to either buy or rent the movie.
I've never tried to 'rent' a movie from YT, and wonder how that works?...I wonder if you get the rights to the movie for like 24 hour period?, or is it a one watch and done deal?
I'd rather just order the full movie from Amazon so I can own it forever.
