Terminal managers, etc, they treat truckers with disdain.
It's like if you're a trucker, the dumber you are, the more they're at ease around you. They just have this idea that they're more intelligent, more human, and able to get stuff that your little simple truck driver brain can't grasp.
it's a sickening environment. Maybe it's that way in other industries also...I don't know.

Lazer SpotWell, if I have to continue to drive, I'd rather work for a company like Lazor spot, who specializes in hauling loads and trailers on lots for customers. This way I earn a decent check, and home daily, and don't even have to leave the city. I'm so sick of traveling, the traffic, etc. But being a yard jock isn't for everyone in that you have to move around a lot more, but that suits my fancy just fine actually. And no log books, awesome. Since spend most time on private lots, no dern DOT log books to fill out, and was told they deal more with OSHA. Anyways, this will probably be my last full weekend off in a very long time. I applied for 2 other jobs, but they took to long to respond so, oh well. Now go get your shine box...

The one good thing about trucking or having a CDL is that drivers are always in demand, finding a job isn't a problem...and you'll find way better jobs on job boards like Monster. com, rather than Craigslist, that's for sure.
As soon as I was serious about finding a job, I found one in days, I really wanted a box truck job, but I just apply, and which ever company hires me first, is usually who I go with.

I'm not clinically depressed, but I am emotionally depressed right now over my circumstances. I will be starting a new job which even though I applied for and probably got, I'm already hating. Not so much the job but rather the whole system of abuse, of once being hired not having a say in anything and being watched and observed like a rat in a cage by others I do not respect. The idea of losing control of your schedule, after being off for so long, that's a sickening feeling to me, losing control of my own schedule once again. Coming home after work and being way to tired and wore out to do anything meaningful, that's when whole swaths of weeks go by where all you do is come home, zombie around, go to bed, get up the next day and live for the job rather than yourself. Of course I'm speaking a labor job, and not a career that one loves, big difference. But I just ran out of time and money and so, well, here's where I'm at once again. And it sucks, totally sucks, like entering into a very bad marriage....once again... www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/threads/trucking-can-be-like-a-bad-marriage.68681/
