Heck no not coming in on my day off!
Heck, I'm still recovering from last weeks shift, when I was sick, and worked anyways, and now on my day off asked if I wanted to come in and cover another, hell no! I never miss a day of work when scheduled, cause I don't want to burden others, why can't others do the same?
Heck, I'm still a bit under the weather, and need every single hour, day, of my time off to recoup and recovery. I have a job that requires 100% attention when on duty, and it drains the brain, driving a truck is no joke man, one mistake and people die or get injured, and you lose your obs.
Not only that, but at my age, what is a 300 dollar bonus to give up more than 3/4's of my day, time and energy, and health??
Please.... At my age chump change means very little to me anymore, what matters is life changing money, as in $5000.00 or more, money lie that will move me, but chump change, at my age, are you hobbitding me??
I'm not some high school student looking to earn extra money for a date....come on.
For 300 dollars I'm gonna risk getting in a career ending accident or getting sick again by going out when not fully recovered, or and even just peace of mind, and what that leads to as far as creative opportunities that I can never do while at work. Sorry, to me, time off is like a paycheck.
Look, I'm poor, and 300 dollars isn't going to change that, I can work on my day off, and I'll still be poor, nothing will change, nothing!!

I think someone from the place I work, just tried calling me...just to tell me what I already know. They hired a extra layer of useless admin types, who all they do is annoy people, and insult people, but telling us what we already know to do.
But one thing for sure, no one calls me this time of the night unless it's an emergency. And there's only a few I'll answer the phone for after 11 am...anyone else, to bad, will have to wait till morning.
I don't allow anyone to disrupt my peaceful before bedtime, I do my best not to take stress with me into the night.
And I never waste mind energy thinking about that mindless job, until I get there.

In fact, just turned phone off, and will not turn it on until just about to step out to work, and then won't respond to any messages until actually at job location. I don't get paid enough to allow m/f's to intrude into my off time.

New people don't understand how much I hate the system....how insulted I am by it, how I so hate working around 'mortals'...OK, maybe a bit of an exaggeration...but just saying.
I had such big dreams, plans, when younger, wanted to be a movie star, or athlete, professional, wanted to do this, do that...I'm not some small minded fkr who looks at the clock before work and eagerly wants to please the system...I'm just the opposite. And when off work, home, and allowed to just be free, it's like I'm in a different realm of possibilities. No job will shrink me, or who I am, or I just won't work there.
Now if want to intrude into my off time, than pay like ceo's get paid, but don't waste me time with pennies. If they don't like my style, they can fire me, I could use a few months off to make some major changes to my life.

It amazes me how little companies get to know the people who work for themI saw a text on my phone that said 'Shift available in 20 minutes, which you like to work it?' Mind you, this is my day off...so are you freagin hobbitding me!!.. When I'm off work, not scheduled to work, I don't just sit around in a state of animation, suspended from all time and life (like a unplugged robot), and simply wait around for a call from my job to fill a shift...again, are you freagin hobbitding me!! When I'm off work, I live my life, that life may not be much to my employer (s), ect, but that life is the world to me...time, free time, is the world to me, regardless of how I spend that free time, but one thing for sure, whatever I'm doing during my off time, free time, I'm not being some spoken down to labor slave!!, where my opinion doesn't matter one bit, where everyone in upper managment wants to speak down to you thus stripping you of your dignity.Fk that, why would I break the peace and tranquility, or partying, or going to the beach, or traveling or creating art, or blogging, or podcasting, or dating, or whatever....why would I suspend any of that simply to go work a long, dull, mundane, lonely shift?? No amount of money I earn during one shift is going to change my life or fiscal reality.100 maybe 150 bucks to come in on my cherished off day is not worth it to me, not at my age. 1000's of dollars is what changes peoples lives, not a few hundred bucks here or there. I'm not your labor slave, nor am I getting rich working for 'you', as such don't expect off work loyalty, I'm to old for that.

All the years in the past, I spent working those extra hours, or taking those extra loads, actually thinking it would matter...ye right, as a labor slave, we're nothing but disposable commodities. These employers don't care about our dreams, our goals, our interests, our ambitions, all they care about is their own bottom line, and then they wonder why no one loyal to them. News flash, get to know those who work for you, and then maybe, you'll get more loyalty from them, if not you, as a employer, are just as disposable to today's workers as they are to you...

In my particular field, there's a big labor shortage, as such I don't have to kiss no one's behind. In fact, many jobs now, will let you set your own schedule.

Why does my job even bother calling me when I'm off?
I don't sit around waiting to get a call so that I can be asked to go back to a job I literally despise.
When I'm off I'm planning things, I'm living, or even just laying around and healing.
Asking me to work on my days off is like asking someone to step back into the ring with a bully who beats you down.
It's like asking me to step back into hell, no amount of money is worth that to me...the money game means nothing, if always chasing money, it's to late or need to make other changes in your life, is how I see it.

I just like scheduled a week off from my job, to travel, without telling them first...it was a impulse move. I was off, and did it while, of course, drunk, and speaking to my _____ which I haven't seen in over a decade.
I kinda feel about about not telling company first, that was rude of me, to be honest...it was rude, but it's done now.
In my field, labor is so lacking, that I doubt any action will be taken, plus I'm usually and always the best worker there with like a 100% attendance record when scheduled to work.
That being said, it's not like I like that job, sure I get a lot of time off, but when there I absolutely hate it, cause the shifts are to long. I think after about 8 hours of work, or anything, you've just had enough...and some of these routes, jobs, extend beyond that, which rubs you wrong by the end of the day/shift.
Anyways, I got a lot on my mind lately...future type stuff...I don't want to be a labor slave forever, I need some time to enjoy life, as I age.

Reporting to work tomorrow, and doing a job, task, that's so far removed from who I am, what I want to be, what I'm good at, seems, feels, so evil to me right now that I lack the words to express it.

Hell no not working on my day off on Sunday. You have to like what you do to volunteer for such foolishness.
Labor is the least efficient way to earn money these days, and the most risky to your health.
When do work, no support, and get talked down to, why would I subject myself to an extra day of that bs?

It's not just Gen Z that's getting sick of basically working for free, other generations are sick of it as well
The age or era of working just to work, cause it made you a better person are so over. If not getting ahead or rich, what's the freagin point of work?
Just a slave with a wage, that's all.

It's amazing how quick a job, you don't like, or no longer like, can just rob you of the joy you had prior to your shift rotation
Was off for like 11 days or so, and amazing how quickly a job you don't like can hurl you back into a bad mood and totally once again give you a bad outlook on life.

Thing is though, I don't just want another dam job, tired of job chasing, cause I'm sure the next job will have it's setbacks as well.
Not sure what the solution is. Maybe get a roommate and cut my bills down in half? Apply for a 'grant', free money from the government to write a book or go study how goldfish react to weed?
hmm...
