The Pharcyde...funk rap back in the day
I do believe I was living in the Seattle area when this song came out.
Back when certain rappers dared to venture off into a more pyhcodelic realm..or however spelled.
Basically 'Punk rap'...like Punk rock...is what this song was and still is today....when people think outside the box and live.

Jay-Z...Crystal?
Was never a big fan, but I guess they do have skills.
You just never know when songs will 'hit you'...sometimes it can be years, or decades after song released, it's all about moods I guess.
As such, I guess they belong here...but still a bit resistant, cause if in high school would have picked on them.

MC 8, probably one of the most creepiest real life depictions of hood life...death and darkness with a beautiful melody
Sadly most of the real 'OG's' who know this song either dead or locked up and older now...but in the Zone, you live.

White Lines
I'm so square, that it wasn't until an adult that I realized they were talking about 'cocaine', when saying 'white lines'...D'oh!
So miss the old school types who I looked up to when younger.

Shadow BoxingOne of the deepest best rap songs ever, from the 90's era... Only for the thinking though...those who dream, have, or had revolutionary thoughts inside. This song is so underappreciated.... Artist like this rare now days...most stupid rappers these days only rap about romance BS... Kissing up to urban 'hoes', instead of dreaming big about empires. I wonder if Wu-Tang Klan made it into the Rock or Rap hall of fame yet, if not, they should certainly be there with their for sure cross cultural appeal.

Ghetto Super Star, talk about a forgotten classic
Back when 'you' were younger, well here in the Zone, you can still be young and fun.

Not sure if this one made the list yet or not, if so I do apologize, but for sure a classic from non other than 'Biggie Smalls'
To me this is Biggies equivalent to Tupac's 'Dear Mamma'
What son doesn't dream of one day fulfilling their Mothers dream.

Rubber band man, rap song, a classic for sure
I heard this song yesterday while driving, and it just stood out, old school like Southern Rap type stuff.
I was touched by this song, in that even these guys are older now, age catches us all.

Ja Rule - living it up!
Decided to go with 'cleaner' audio version here rather than video.
Ja Rule, let's face it, had they not gone done dark road, who knows.
Future rappers, stay away from dark road..future way more brighter if stay positive.
None the less, what a classic song here.

Tupac - Pure out a little liquor
For sure a classic, by someone who this day, in the hip hop realm, I haven't seen anyone match the raw intensity of Tupac, he wasn't just street, he was smart and poetic, he didn't just swear and brag about guns as a gimmick, like today's rappers do, worlds apart Tupac still remains from the rest.

We attack with various shades of black
This song will make some of you cry, if from the 90's, and or even in military, or Navy at the time.
Oakland, CA area and all...whatever.
The Zone is authentic or would know nothing about this song.

I love the Dough
Going to start typing in the name of song, that way if video deleted at least people will know what song belonged there.
What a large song, back when hip-hop just felt oh so much larger than it does today.
