Police Beat, news and information and opinion concerning the men and women in blue I want to create a space dedicated to Police, and what they do, the cases they pursue, the challenges they face daily and more. Sadly, in todays news cycle, all you get is 'Rep vs Dem' glam type of generic politics, I mean if a officer is shot, or multiple officers shot, all you get is like a 5 second 'morning update' statement, then on to next generic news/weather/information statement, but never no follow up. Multiple officers slain all over nation this weekend, and not a single major news outlet bothered covering it, all they shoved down your throats were 'glam politics', Trump this, Trump that, Romney this, Romney that, P-Obama this, P-Obama that...enough!! There are other things going on in this nation other than glam politics. People deserve to know more, and here, time allowing, will attempt to give you more, or at least make you think. 1. Were all these attacks coordinated or just random? 2. Are the Cartel sponsoring these attacks? In that in South American nations you see this a lot, and now that Cartel has bigger foot print in U.S., are they motivating people to be more brazen towards the Police?? 3. And what can, and should Police do to better protect themselves from such ambushes in the future?, or can they? 4. Will Donald Trump help put an end to this?, and if so how? I want to discuss real issues here about all aspects of Law enforcement, and will try my best to not 'politicize' any of it, cause I realize the police out there being targeted, slain, and or just doing their jobs come in all colors, stripes, and political pursuasions (forgive my spelling, not in spell check mood). As such, the good, the bad and the ugly will follow. I will try to give you news, and details about Law enforcement that main stream outlets like Fox and CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS and others don't give you anymore. And be pre warned, my slant towards the police tends to be 'positive', but none the less, won't cover for bad apples, but just want you to know, I do tend to favor the Police, for without them, society would descend into utter chaos. So sit back, relax, and grab some popcorn, cause this will be quite a ride, over time. And thank you officers for doing what you do. (Even though may annoy some of you with certain posts in the future)

Who would want to be a cop these days?
Maybe in small town rural area where (at least in olden days) most raised to respect and fear law enforcement.
But in todays urban environment, not sure there's much reward to being a cop.
Everyone seems to hate you, you seem to have to deal with same burned out street types over and over again.
And today, for some odd reasons, criminals like shooting back now, rather than be arrested and go to jail, as if they've all made some kind of 'creed' or 'pact' with one another, 'death before jail or prison'.
This year, in particular, has been deadly for officers, not since the 1930's or 60's or maybe early 70's do I remember reading about so many criminal on cop shootings.
Maybe under Donald Trump, being a police officer might be more rewarding again, that's yet to be seen.
And when a officer, seems no one likes you, wants to hang around you, afraid you'll 'tell on them'.
People are struggling, morality at a all time low.
No one wants to hang around with a Priest with a badge.
Not sure if being a cop is fun anymore, again, unless in smaller rural area where crime is trivial, and people raised to still respect and fear the law.
But in urban areas, seems all you see is death, drugs and attitude.
Not sure what that would do to your mind, sense of joy, happiness, when always only dealing with the darkest people in society.
People who are diseased, dying or dead.

Why I doubt could ever become a police officer
1. Don't like dealing with dead bodies, smashed heads, blood and guts.
TV cops don't deal in reality, but in reality, day to day cops do, it's blood, guts, and worse.
2. Not good at applying medical aid to others.
As a real officer, often show up while victim or suspect injured, in between life and death, and your actions could make the difference whether they live or die, are you ready for that?
3. Paper work, or should say 'computer work'...
TV never shows just how much paper work each incident generates, for court proceedings, and has to be near perfect or tossed back, according to those in field.
But maybe under Trump, being a cop, law enforcement officer may get easier...who knows.
Good luck fellas, those who do decide to follow that route, and remember not everyone is your enemy...

When you think about it, Police really don't protect, they simply respond to victims, after they've already been victimized.
Bodyguards protect, hired professional bodyguards, or big brothers, or Fathers, protect.
Don't get me wrong, but 1000's slain yearly, that police could not protect.
Detectives can help eventually bring attacker to justice, but after victim already dead.
There's no one here 'protecting' me right now, a criminal could break in, shoot me, and no cop here to 'protect' me.
You have to protect yourself, I suppose, but even when do that, often prosecuted and don't have same State immunity that officers have.
Officers are basically good at 'protecting themselves', is what I comes down to, the rest of us kind of own our own.

After reading this story about execution in Alabama, I think lethal injection is more inhumane than other forms of executionlink = Alabama execution, lethal injectionAfter reading this story, about inmate being put to death by lethal injection, I'm convinced lethal injection is more inhumane than more traditional forms of execution, why? 1. With lethal injection, 'subject' seems to 'linger', time of death not certain, and they have to keep checking. 2. Drugs effect people differently, so a dose that may render one unconscious after seconds, another's body chemistry it may not effect for minutes. 3. To me, the fact that 'subject' has up to 20-30 minutes to 'linger' in and out of consciousness, makes it seem more like torture to me, than humane. 4. Instant death, to me, if I were on death row, would be much more preferred, I'd rather be shot in the heart, head, or have head chopped off, than to lay there while being put to death by drugs as body resists trying to die. The body, of the criminal, doesn't know that soul inside it is a criminal, the body, which is biological, simply tries to keep itself alive. Lethal injection, after reading this story, is 'sick' to me, as body does all it can do to counter effects of drugs. Those who think lethal injecting is more humane than traditional methods, have missed the mark. If I were on death row, and asked how I wanted to be executed, I would not chose lethal injection, in that I don't want to be lingering on and on, in and out of consciousness for 20 minutes, dreaming, ect, body involuntarily fighting effects of drugs, no way, if executed I want it over immediately... I rarely use this term 'Liberal'..(hate broad terms like that is why don't use), but to me, so called 'Liberal' bleeding heart types, have made executions worse on inmates, not better.

I use to be one who was blindly 'Pro Police', until I watched the series of videos below
And this is one of like hundreds on You Tube of Police harrassing law abiding Black citizens and treating them like 'suspects'...and occurred once or twice, fine, but this seems to occur almost routinely, just check out YouTube...
And it saddens me, cause often I'd dismiss people who complained about Police, I'd give the standard response 'Just comply', but when happens over and over and over again, I can see why people get sick of having their rights violated for no particular reason, I mean even with hobbits in back seat.
And get sick of officers telling Black versions of 'Ward and June' Cleaver that 'You pose a threat to me'.
I can see where it can get demeaning after a while, or a whole life time of putting up with.
Here's another video just as depressing...
And I so thought most of America was post racial...and again, if just this one video, but it's not, I mean hundreds like this of Cops approaching black folks for doing nothing, then when Black citizens exercise their rights, Cops get beligerent and violent.
It's actually scary to watch, cause without cell phone video, one can only imagine all the horror stories of the past that occurred off tape with no video evidence...it's scary.
Don't get me wrong I detest crime, but to go around criminalizing every day normal law abiding blacks folks just cause 'They can', is really disturbing.
Basically carrying their biases with them while at work.

I mean I so want to be Pro Law Enforcement, but in these videos I don't see any laws being enforced, I just see scary people in uniform harrassing ordinary B citizens with hobbits in back seat.

Oh the things I could say right now.
Walk a straight line and the things you observe, how evil certain types are.
Why they were ever granted ____ who knows.
But in reality they're sick, gross.
Like Vampires, in the move 'Blade', 'prospects' I think.
_____ have the same, and they can be even worse, cause not trained...and so badly want recognition, as such rush and make mistakes.
And as such hurt good people at times.
