I'm older now, and really just don't care about social media anymore.
As a working 9-5 type, not many others I know care much about it anymore either.

I rejoined tik tok again, and got bored with it in a matter of days. I mean you get a flurry of views, and then everything just drops off, not to mention the constant sign in issues, ect, I mean who has time for all that if not making money from it.
Sure, tik tok boosts a few people to fame by allowing their videos to be seen, but the vast majority of users on there are just there to have their info harvested.

Done with tik tok, it's useless to me now
Done with tik tok, as I am most social media....just seems people turn into snakes online. But in this video, can see how some can't even sign in do to puzzle flaw...(at least if done on a laptop or desk top)... Either way, I've outgrown tik tok, not that I ever was successful on there.

Seems every year, for the last 5 or more, you get less and less views, regardless. Getting views has become such a strategic organized thing now. In the past, views, the ones you got, were totally organic, those days are gone.
Now, people buy, use, apps to get views, and other behind the scenes stuff...they cheat, basically. And AI, googles AI, is making views even harder to come by now. Whole websites get ignored now by the search engines.
Years ago, you could find 'The Zone' on search engines, well, not anymore, so how do others find this place? It's not a level playing field anymore.
It's all but a waste of time, but most of us, at least older types, just still linger on social media out of habit, I suppose.

Reddit is a social site I've never joined before I've never joined Reddit before, but may check it out, only cause it came up on my 'to do list'. Social sites aren't really social anymore, at least not how I remember them, and most of the original users of social media are older now, like me...lol. Like with twitter, I don't think no one under the age of 25-30, even bothers with that site anymore, most are like 45 and above on twitter, or 'X', which to me, under Elon, still sucks. Anyhow, let me see if I want to join Reddit or now, after I do some research on it, and see how complicated the sign up process is.

⬆️⬆️⬆️🫤
I don't know, same o same o to me.
Not really in the mood for any social media anymore, referring to Reddit. The same ole getting addicted and dependent on others to confirm your value, I mean why give others that power over yourself?
Reddit might be fun, if I were drunk, but I'm sober now, so it just seems like a dud. Going forward, I'm ready to start engaging the real world again, have about had enough of the false promises of online communities.
So ye, I think I'll pass on Reddit for now, just not in the mood for it, maybe later though, when in a different mood.

X or twitter is pretty much all the way out of my life now. I signed back in for a few months, but the place is as dead as this place...but I expect it to be dead here.
They've reduced users to nothing more than mindless commenting tweebs, that's it. No friendships are made on that place anymore...it's just for the well to do and media now, but no longer for the common person.
And they won't let you leave links anymore, unless subscribe...screw that. I signed out, and doubt I'll ever sign in again, unless to cancel account.

Life is kind of odd without social media, for me anyways.
For so many past years I'd spend so much of my time scanning social media sites, thinking that what I posted actually mattered...conclusion?
What a big fat waste of what should have been otherwise productive time with me going out into the community and volunteering or signing up for classes, or even getting a second job or you name it.
I could give a rats behind about social media now days, social media has never done anything for me, I've never met anyone from it, nothing.
So, now, I spend my days not on social media, and it's liberating in a way.

I mean what's the incentive to get onto social media now? To post a bunch of stuff that no one will see or respond to? That's what this place here is for, the dumping of thoughts, but without all the noise or info harvesting.

Views are only doled out to those the gate keepers feel are worthy of it...that's how Hollywood was, still is, and social media, what social media did was give common people a way around the Hollywood gate keepers, but then Hollywood, step be step, once again stole the lime lite from common people by sending celebrities to join social media and to open up their lives, so celebrities began sucking all the oxygen out of the room. Only now the gate keepers are those in Silicon Valley, cause even they control those in Hollywood in as far as who they allow to be seen or not.
Humans are a greedy ugly bunch, give anyone human enough power and most just turn or morph into monsters.

My 'to do list' has me going onto Face Book, cause I still have an account there but rarely ever use it anymore.
But you know what, I'm so disgusted with social media now, that I really just have no interest in it anymore.
I'm sick of people, others, taking shots at you, while hiding behind a fake name or identity. I'm sick of 'likes', thumbs up, followers, ect...none of it pays my bills. You end up worrying about peoples opinions who'll never show up at your funeral, and you can lose hours on those platforms accomplishing absolutely nothing.
I prefer old fashion phone call or face to face meeting over social media, which is absolutely meaningless to me now.
Instead of getting on FB I'd just rather get dressed and go to the store, or drive around, and see and interact with real people.
At least in real life there's no algorithm determining who does and does not see me.

In fact, time to go exercise one more time before it gets dark, time to go ride my bike...all of which is way more fulfilling than Face book...sorry Zuckerburg.

Deactivated my one and only last remaining account on X, or twitter, talk about a feeling of liberation.
I mean why should I continue to waste my time going to a site where I get basically no views, no comments, no impressions, nothing....while at the same time I get harvested for my info...screw that.
It becomes an emotional drain after a while, when you post superb comments, stuff, and yet the algorithm suppresses your posts. I think the people prior to Elon taking over did it.
Cause I used to get like 500+ average impression, twitter used t be fun, prior to the Trump years, but it just changed when Trump ran for office.
It's not Trump's fault, but that's just when ultra left types began tweeking stuff behind the scenes, shadow banning ect.
What an evil practice shadow banning is. Silicon valley is full of evil snake like people, period. I guess every ones capable of being evil, but not all evil people have control over others like folks in silicon valley

Instagraham, no thanks.
Join Instagraham just came up on my 'to do list', so I checked it out, and long story short, nah.
Sorry, but trying to compete with celebrities for views and attention all but ruined instagraham for average folks. I'm older now anyways, don't have no friends in the real world, not sure how I'd suddenly get them online. And I'm just sick of online communication...you don't meet anyone that way, don't get married, etc.
It's all just useless babble to me now, not worth my time anymore hearing anynomous opinions or likes from people I'll never meet in real life...nah, not for me, not at this stage of my life anyways.
