Can't take TV watching much anymore...it's not the shows I don't like, rather it's what is aired between the shows as in news updates which are so 'dark', and or medical commercials which imply everyone is sick and doomed unless buy their product.
Or some times they'll air gross pictures of sick people, to move you to donate.
Either way it's all just so dark now, has the world just gone dark lately??
My conscious or subconscious mind just doesn't need all that darkness pouring in...so as of late I've been keeping both the TV and radio off.
Even seeing someone wearing a 'mask' on like internet news or adds, is sending out a dark message to me, a demoralizing one, as such I don't view it.
Refuse to allow those in the media to control my state of mind or emotional state of being.
We remain sane in this world by focusing on the good, and things that are right.
Watching TV today for the first time in weeks, months
Watching some Humphrey Bogart festival, where channel just airs nothing but his movies.
Interesting man actually, Bogart is or was..
He reigned probably from about the mid 1940's to early 60's?
And his movies so depict a by-gone era, back when 'the white man and his woman' ruled the world, literaly.
In these movies, and I can remember watching when a kid (re-runs of course), but in these movies it seemed there was no where the 'white man' couldn't go and not be safe, no nation, no place, whether Africa, the middle East, South America, it seemed back then the 'white man and his woman' was untouchable, and to a broader sense 'Americans in general'...back when no one would dare kidnap or mess with an American, be they white or any other ethnicity.
Back before Islamic extremism took over, when Americans could travel to Egypt, walk the back streets and be safe and even coveted....I pity the person who tries that today.
Things have just changed....if a white person, probably for the worse, but if Asian, probably for the better...depending on where live.
But ye, these Bogart movies boy do they take you back to a different era.
Or at least that's how the movie studios portrayed things.
I have a TV but don't even watch it anymore, I just feel there's to much 'messaging' on TV now, either in the shows, unless older shows, or for sure the commercials, and it's always 'dark messaging'.
'You're going to die unless you buy this product', 'If you have these symptoms, you could have this, so buy this product', and on and on.
Or showing gross commercials of of diseased kid in another part of the world, just stuff like that and more designed to leave ugly images in your head, and I just don't need it, when home, I don't need to invite that ugliness into my place.
So I keep the TV off now, at least online I can someone control what images are on the screen.
And with streaming and all, who really needs regular TV anymore.
I could only take less than 1 minute of a Amazon original movie, cause in opening scene, or second opening scene, there's a house Xmas partying going on, and the Dad walks in holding gifts and then you can see how there's a equal number of 'blacks' in the how, scattered around perfectly for the camera just to make the place seem inclusive.
I felt like vomiting, I really did, cause life's just not like that.
People just aren't the 'inclusive' once they leave the workplace, and most 'white folks' I know don't go out of their way to cram pack their house with minorities just for 'effect'.
And it's insulting to see that on film.
And I was hoping it would be a good movie..'The Tomorrow War', is what it's called, some sci-fi flick, but dang can they at least keep the 'messaging' out of sci-fi?
Obviously they can't, is why I've long stopped being able to view Any Star Wars movies, cause all Star Wars has turned into is Sesame street, with all the everything is fair messaging.
Hey, lets place a black person here, a Asian person there, make sure the Captain of the ship is a cross dresser and that the General is Transitioning and make the the toughest best fighter a 80 pound female and so forth.
